Aloha,
Would appreciate feedback about the crowd size for the week before Thanksgiving this year, Tuesday 14 November through Sunday, 19 November. From what I have read, weekends tend to be less busy than weekdays at DLR. However, does this trend continue during the Christmas season the week before Thanksgiving? Planning a family vacation, the week before Thanksgiving 2024 and trying to plan which days (weekdays or weekend) to attend the parks and which days to do other activities. Mahalo.

We were there November 12 to 17. The Thursday and Friday weren’t as bad. The Tuesday and Wednesday were very busy - at least as bad as Sunday and Monday - even though it rained a lot on Wednesday. I was told by a cast member that was because Tuesday and Wednesday were the last two days in 2023 that the zero level one-day tickets were valid, so everyone was trying to use them up. I didn’t check to see if that was accurate.

Even the busy days are manageable if you follow the advice from this forum. We found it easier to move around and do things early (at park opening) and late (at park closing or, for RotR, right before 10 pm). Genie+ and single rider lines helped a lot too, if those are options for you.

I was there 11/19-11/22. The 19th wasn’t bad at all. Very manageable. With genie+, we were able to get everything done that we wanted (and never waited longer than 15 min I think). I was worried about waits for food, etc and nothing was a bad as I thought. We skipped Monday, the 20th (have heard Mondays are super crowded) and went back tues and Wednesday and it still wasn’t as bad as we thought. Sometimes walkways would feel crowded, but other things seemed surprisingly dead. Like Golden Horseshoe hardly had any people and zero line for food both days. I could walk right up and get popcorn and a pretzel at the outdoor food carts with no one else in line. Things that normally do not happen. Lol.

Wish I could give you more insight to the week before. Have fun planning your trip!!

We were there 11/15-11/17. Wednesday the 15th was a nightmare between the rain and insane crowds. I have been on weekends and holidays that were less crazy than that day in the parks. The 16th was ok, still a bit crowded but more doable. But Friday the 17th was by far the best day in the parks for us. Seemed so much less crowded compared to the other days. We did leave about 5 PM though so the evening probably got busy as locals got off work.

We were there 15th- 18th Nov, although we only arrived in the evening on the 15th (got into the parks around 8.30pm) - and it's interesting the different experiences! Because we were only there the evening of the 15th, and it had been raining, and still was a bit, we had an absolutely fantastic evening! Got on a bunch of rides including Peter Pan with very minimal waits, everything seemed to be a 5 min wait (PP was 20), got photos, saw the castle lighting, everything was wonderful! Completely spoiled the kids for the next days when there were much longer waits!
Thurs 16th, definitely busier, not too horrendous but steady waits that just increased all day.
Had Genie+ so that helped. Did RotR standby at about 5.30pm and it was only 25 mins to the Rey room, moving steadily the whole time.

Friday 17th, we rope dropped DCA and got nearly everything done by early afternoon, including riding GRR a few times. Left as lines were getting long and Genie+ times were far out, and came back in evening for WOC. Was a good day, but definitely useful to rope drop.

Sat 18th back at DL, and took it easy as we had done all the essentials. Big rides had longish waits, and it was hard to do much, but got a decent amount done with some planning.

Things to note - 17th Nov is Life Day, so more Star Wars fans around and bit more crowded in Galaxys Edge, but fun.
18th Nov, Mickey and Minnie's birthday - doesn't make much difference but this year you got a badge, and there was an extra cavalcade :)

Overall didn't notice much difference between weekdays and the weekend, felt like the Saturday was busier but not significantly so.
