I wasn't sure what area to post the question, so I put it here. We will be returning to WDW in June of this coming year. We will be driving up from Miami after a cruise, so we will be staying off site for the first night. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn over on Palm Parkway by the Crossroads area several times, and was thinking about doing that again. I remember some people talking about them demolishing much of the restaurants and stores in that area for freeway improvements. Has anybody been in that area recently, or do you know how crazy the construction is in that vicinity. I know that even before construction, the area has always been very busy and congested, so I just might avoid it all together if the construction has made it significantly worse.

The demolition of the Crossroads was delayed. Tenants can remain open until at least August 2021.

There is still plenty of traffic around there.

Avoiding I-4 is a great strategy if you can.

The only change I noticed last weekend was Tom+Chee was out of business.

As stated you are good. I just stayed over in that area (at the Hampton) for the first time in years and have to say driving there was better than it's ever been. That would be my go to area, at least until they start the construction and we see what it involves. I imagine that the demo and ground prep will take some time before roads are greatly impacted.
