Our family of 3 is heading down to Disney in 3 weeks, and DH and I have a tentative plan to go back alone for a long weekend in January, and DH has a very loose plan to do the Dark Side 10k in April with his coworker.

Without the April trip, but doing the January trip for sure, the difference between having AP or just tickets is negligible enough that it makes no difference, but if there was a way to see what the resort rates are, it could convince DH to at least upgrade his ticket to an AP. (We probably wouldn't do a bounce back because I think the current offer is free dining, and we don't plan on doing any TS, and mostly snacking our way around Epcot for 2 days.)

I'm looking for January 13 and 14 at YC or Wilderness, 2 adults, Standard, or whatever is cheapest. I appreciate it!

The AP rates are only out through Dec 24 at this point. It will take a while to get to January. But there usually isn't a large difference between the general public discount and AP.

@IrishNYC FYI, per Mousekeepers, general public room only discounts that covered 1/1/2017-4/8/2017 were announced last year on 9/30/2016. AP discounts for the same time period came out 10/22/2016. Things can change year to year, but that should give you a general idea of when to be paying attention to discount releases.

AP discounts are sometimes (but not always) 5-10% better than the general public discount available at the time. Sometimes it's hard to find an AP discount at all. It doesn't look like there is any rack rate availability at YC currently (other than CL) for your dates. That 'could' be a sign of limited/no discount inventory later when they do come out. Sorry if that's obvious, just making sure.

You can also call them and they will tell you over the phone. Its not like the now who is one and who isn't over the phone.

Thanks! I can find a Garden/Woods view at YC for those dates, and some club level but that would be really pushing it with DH! I think we're going to wait until we're there in September, and see what's available before we leave and make the decision then.

Ah, yes, you're right. I misread your post and was searching just 1/13-/14, not 1/13-1/15. Good luck with your decision. Just a warning, APs are addicting. A couple of trips per year can turn into 3-5 real quick, or at least that's what has happened to us! I have found with the AP that I sometimes need to be more flexible with my dates or resorts to get the most out of the AP room only discount. Usually in any given offer period at least one of the deluxes has a 30 or 35% off rack rate discount, so sometimes that steers my resort choices.
