Crossbody bag on rides

Does anyone know if a small crossbody like this can be taken on rides? (I know not Hulk or Rip It Rocket which I’m not doing anyway!)

Planning to store my Loungefly backpack in a locker but wondering if I have to store this too.
Are Fanny packs and lanyards the only approved “bags”?

And where exactly are the lockers? Before you get in line? Or right before you ride?
Are there attendants there I can ask if I need to store this or not?
Will bring a lanyard too but this is much cuter! Lol.

The lockers are before you get in line and there is an employee to help if you have questions.

And like the pp said if you use a fanny pack it needs to be a three prong clasp.

There are several rides that do not allow bags, not even small crossbody. You will need to put it in the locker too. You can always ask the line attendant, Men in Black and Gringots come to mind as rides that do not allow bags.

I have a small fanny pack that can be worn crossybody. On my way to the line I just Unsnap it and adjust it for around my waist. Then when I’m off the ride it can become a crossbody bag again.

I`ve always worn my Kipling Multiple on both those rides, as long as the harness locks they`re fine.

The general rule of thumb is that a bag with a three prong clasp (i.e. fanny pack) would be permitted on all locker rides with the exception of the two that have metal detectors (Hulk and RRR). For Hulk and RRR, you can only have a lanyard on your person.

I've never had an issue wearing my three prong fanny pack on any other locker rides, but I'd suspect a crossbody bag like the one in the photo would be required to be put in a locker. There are not typically TMs stationed in the locker area, although I believe they are queueing at locker banks in some cases so perhaps one is manning that? If not, there are usually TMs at the queue to the ride that you could ask if needed.

This can be a YMMV depending on the ride attendant. I have a “fanny pack” that I wear crossbody and was told it had to go in a locker at Gringotts but tried it a few days later already clipped around my waist and it was fine (same bag lol). Now I just adjust it before getting to the line.

Yes, in all our visits, the Kipling 3 prong clasp fanny pack was always allowed on, as long as it didn`t interfere with the harness. You absolutely can wear that type on the rides mentioned.

We`ve seen a few folks folks over the years argue black and blue they should be allowed on with a regular bag as Disney allows them to wear bags.....lol......heck we even saw a guy try to take a medium size rucksack on The Mummy once......he was very clearly instructed to head to the lockers!

Yes, cross body ones are always exempt I believe. Although now I think on it, i`m sure someone mentioned you could now wear a crossbody on FJ.....can`t quite confirm that though. .

The TM are pretty astute at spotting the ones that are prohibited.

I've been wearing crossbody bags for more than a decade. I wear a Coach Disney or a Dooney Disney. Yours will be fine.

Crossbody bags would be acceptable on any ride that doesn't have a free locker bank. If a ride has a locker bank, there are bag restrictions. Generally, crossbody bags are not permitted. That's not to say that some may not have slipped through the cracks, but I know whenever I've worn mine (swingpack style), its not been permitted. Again, this would be on rides like Mummy, MIB, Forbidden Journey, Gringotts, etc. I can wear my crossbody without issue on rides like Simpsons, Jurassic Park, Jimmy Fallon, etc because these rides have no lockers and therefore, no bag restrictions.

Last year they allowed us to wear cross body bag on Forbidden Journey. They actually specifically told my wife to move along from going to the lockers with her purse worm cross body and to wear it on the ride (to try and reduce crowding in the locker section). Turned out to be a bad mistake as my wife had a water bottle in her purse and it cracked open while she was wearing it on the ride and got her soaked.

The next ride the CMs tried to move her along to ride with her purse but we refused after the water bottle incident and put it in the locker.

A hint about the lockers. I bring a pen and a piece of paper. I write down the locker number on the paper and put in my pocket while riding the ride. When I retrieve my items from the locker, I cross off the number. If you do several rides in row the locker numbers start to run together.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but for the rides with the newer/smaller lockers where you use your park ticket to open them, I don't think you even have to remember the number. From what I remember, when you scan your ticket, it just pops open.

Thanks, It has been a couple of years since I was last there.

While true, on our last trip we ran into a problem.

For some reason my ticket wouldn't scan properly so when I tried to retrieve our stuff it didn't work. I had to get one of the CMs to help. He asked which locker it was and what was in it so when he manually opened it he could confirm it was actually our. Problem was I didn't exactly remember which locker it was. So the one I *thought* it was, when he opened it, was empty and me and my wife had a panic attack thinking our stuff was gone. But then we tried a few more around it and finally found the right one with out stuff.

So it's still good to keep a mental note if you can of what locker # you use for the off chance it's not working when you try to retrieve your stuff.

Sure, anything can happen. I would still say this is a rare occurrence, but doesn't hurt.
