Hi everyone. We just got back from a long weekend at wdw and I stressed the whole week before because they were calling for a big three day storm and we were only going to be there for four days. Long story short-it rained kind of drizzly most of the day on Fri and we did the ESPN weekend at MGM. Because of the poor attendance we were able to stand on the front row for Mary Lou Retton (and ask her a question), Bruce Jenner and Amanda Baird. Later on we were front row sitting for Philadelphia Eagles players, Cory Simon and Bryan Dawkins.
Better yet, on Monday they called for heavy rain and chances of thunderstorms so as we sat at breakfast, the guys were insistant that they wanted to do DisneyQuest. I threw a little temper tantrum and said - Fine. You guys go there and I'll take Katie and head to the Magic Kingdom. DQ will be crowded and MK will be deserted. Finally, everybody decided to do the MK but they were grumbling. We had a FABULOUS time. I got everyone ponchos and umbrullas and baseball caps and we were able to do the entire park in 5.5 hours. We were able to ride splash mountain and BTMRR several times without getting out of our car. I do have to say that out of force of habit I said "I want the dry spot" on SM and then realized the foolishness of what I said and giggled.
All day long we noticed that people were in wonderful moods. At the end of the day, my family did this to me
and told me that they were so happy that I had won the argument in the AM. Now we are spoiled and want it to rain for a full day at least once during all of our trips.
Moral of the (long) story: Don't be afraid of the rain.
