I'm really starting to get into cross stitching and embroidery. I've done quite a few easy embroidery projects with patterns from Sublime Stitching, and I'm about to start a cross stitch piece from Mystic Stitch. (this one -- a vintage Mossant ad).

I love the stuff at both of these places, but I'd like to find other resources for patterns. Where do you guys get yours? I'm not really looking for hearts and teddy bears, but anything else is fair game.

SoonerKate-

Since you're in Norman, have you been to "That Special Touch"? They have some gifts, but mostly needlework items. It is in the shopping center on the southwest corner of Main and 36th...Kind of past Kinko's right before the apartments? I have gotten quite a few things there before.

Honestly, I make mine as often as I buy them. :)

Otherwise, I browse a couple of cross stitch bb's and watch for new patterns I like to appear there and then find where people get them. :) I don't really have any one particular place that I shop online.

I very rarely actually visit my LNS (Local Needlework Shop). Not only do their hours conflict with my working hours, but they only have what I want maybe 30% of the time and some of their help is less than friendly. :( So I prefer to shop online.

My local stores have an "OK" selection. If there's something specific I'm looking for, I can almost always find it at 123stitch.com

I have lots of fire dept patterns (could you guess LOL) and am happy to share whatever I have if anyone would like.

Sometimes I think I collect cross stitch patterns!!! I seem to have so many!! But I love them and maybe someday I will finish one or 2!!! LOL

Does anyone happen to have a really nice graduation sampler? I just finished one from Stoney Creek with a rolled diploma & ivy and it was very nice but was boring to do and I've got 2 more graduations this fall. I don't want to repeat myself but may have to.

Thanks for any ideas,
Cheryl

I have a really great local shop. She has a weekly project you can sign up for (cost of materials) on Thursday night - gives a chance to meet up with the girls and chat. She carries a huge selection of patterns and threads. And the shop is behind her house. That's where I usually get most of mine.

I have collected many many patterns over the years from people who let me borrow theirs and copy them  I have huge notebooks full.

I just don't have enough time to do it all.
