heres another random question from me. are cross stitch kits allowed on board planes:confused3 i would love to be able to take a small cross stitch with me but am unsure whether they would allow the needle.:confused3 anybody know?

I used to take a cross stitch on the plane with me but haven't done since 9/11. I used a small set of nail clippers (baby ones that don't have the nail file on them) instead of scissors but don't think you would be allowed a needle.

Try the plastic ones , normal needles is a no-no , last flight , old lady in front had hers taken away ..

oooh nail clippers and plastic needles...hadn't thought of that...what a great idea.

I must admit my first thought when considering 8 hours on a plane with no sharp implements was "what a waste of good stitching time" :)

Done well over 100 flights and I think cross stitch is something I have never seen anyone do.

I asked a few years ago and was told no, but it wasn't long after 9/11 though so I wasn't surprised. It might be worth checking with your airline. You never know.
