Last Friday, my Michael's had a Crop night. The flyer said you could come and try out the cricut or the sizzix I think.

I couldn't go because I didn't have a sitter but I was wondering if any of you have ever gone to one of their events?

Do you have to pay? DO you have to buy paper when you get there or could you bring some with you? I wonder how much time you would have to use the products? I guess it would depend on how many people came.

I was at my local Michael's last Friday. After I had completed my purchase, it was about 5 minutes until their crop time. I'd never been to a crop so I thought I'd go peek into the room to see what might have started already. Someone had covered the tables with brown paper since I had arrived at the store, but there was no one inside the room to talk to about it. I thought the room would be full! I was too tired to wait the extra 5 minutes, so left for the parking lot. I didn't see anyone there either that might be going to a crop night. When I had asked a few weeks earlier for a bit of info on it, I was told that you got a discount on supplies that night. I think it was 10%, but not sure about it. I also think it cost $5. Maybe it would have been a good time to get some one on one instruction.

I went to the crop at my local Michaels last month. It cost $5. You can drop in anytime between 4pm and 8:30pm but had to sign up in person before it started. They had a lot of paper, embellishments, punches, cutters, etc for us to use. They put out a big box with lots of new stuff they wanted to feature. I got a nice bunch of paper and some brads, etc. The employee that was "teaching" was really helpful. There ended up being six of us there, including two little girls around 8-9 years old. Everyone helped each other out and got a lot done. I'm planning on going back this month. I got at least my $5 worth of "stuff" and I need the outside setting to make me focus on working on my scrapping.

My Michaels doesn't have a huge scrapping section so I'll have to see if they even offer something like this. Might be worth it just for the sake of getting some more pages done.
