just saw on the news...be careful on escalators, the crocs can get caught on the edge of the steps. they'll be adding a warning label to the shoes by hte end of the year.

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Yes, those might be dangerous on an escalator.

I dunno...I saw a pic once. I may never be the same again. :rotfl2:

OMG!!! MY DD got her Croc caught on the edge of the escalator when we were on vacation this summer!! Scared her (and me) really bad- the backstrap ripped off, and her big toe was really bleeding a lot. We had just finished our cruise and we were going down the escalator at the cruise ship terminal in Puerto Rico.

Well, I guess it has happened to others as well. We were kind of freaked out at the terminal, and DD was crying hysterically (almost more about her beloved Croc getting damaged than her toe getting hurt). I'm glad they are going to warn folks of the possibility of that happening.

Wow, glad she was ok! They said on the news yesterday that along with miinor injuries some kids have had to have amputations due to crocs getting stuck on esculators! There was also a news story the week prior about how in the long run peoples feet will be in poor shape from wearing flip flops and crocs...guess I will stick to my sneakers!

Just to be fair...back in the 50's/60's, yes I'm that old, it was sandals and sneakers that were getting stuck, as well as rain boots. The Crocs are a double whammy because they tend to be big on the foot, and you can forget where the edges really are, and the material is very sticky to boot. Stay away from the sides and back of the steps and you should be fine.

edited for spelling...OMG, what thre lack of an R des to that shoe....

:rotfl: we know what you're think about, princess! :rotfl:

When I was in my early teens, I was out with my "boyfriend" and his parents asked us to take his little brother with us to the mall. It was winter so we were all wearing boots. Well, we were going up the escalator in a store in the mall and his brother's boot got caught. We were both kind of panicked and didn't know what to do - my boyfriend was holding on to him and trying to pull him out. The poor little kid ended up with a broken bone in his leg and I think one in his foot too.

Ever since then I have been very, very careful on escalators.

Wow, I didn't hear about this. I'm surprised that can happen with a non-lacing shoe! I was at Universal Studios Hollywood a few years ago, and that park is full of escalators (it's built on a big hill). My sister & I were going up one, and all of a sudden this little boy in front of us reaches the top & his shoelace is stuck! He trips and falls and starts screaming, but his parents are already way ahead of him. Luckily, we were able to grab him & pull his shoe off, and then yank his shoe (minus a chunk of shoelace) out of the escalator. Pretty scary! I've never seen anything like that before. They truly can be shoe-eating beasts. :scared1:

No doubt! The parents didn't seem all that concerned either! They seemed mildly interested when we returned their kid to them. Sure scared the you-know-what out of us!!
