Crocs or Tennis Shoes?

Not sure if it's for an adult or child, but my kids always have both with them on the trip. Light days and the pool - we wear crocs. Heavy walking days we wear tennis shoes.

I always wear Crocs on Disney trips and have never had sore feet. My kids wear them as well. Sneakers feel hot and confining to me in the heat. It really depends on your personal preference. If you are not sure what works best, wear a pair of shoes out to a mall or somewhere you'll do a lot of walking to test it out.

Your preferences may be different than others, so go with what is most comfortable for you.

I am taking my first Disney trip in 3 weeks and will be bringing my gray Privos for my main shoes because they are cute and very comfortable:

I just ordered my first pair of Crocs to try out on wet rides, the Olivia style:

I may bring these Skechers along because they are fairly comfortable and I've had them several years:

But if I don't bring the Skechers, I will be bringing my Nike Reax III running shoes even though they aren't very cute:

Both work great for me! I usually try and keep my tennies on until around 4 PM, then change to Crocs. I like the Malindi style at home and Crocs Capris at Disney. They are flip flops and were wonderful! You have to watch certain kinds of Crocs b/c if they have no ventilation, you can get athlete's foot. I got it in Crocbands ballet flats. Not a major issue though. I just bought an antifungal and now only wear them sometimes, not all the time like I was before. Crocs are great for evenings b/c of swelling in your feet. Even if you can't see it, with the heat and all the walking, you most likely will have it to a certain degree. My family brings both.

Edit: I forgot to say that there was only one way I made it in my tennies. I do not wear them often b/c I don't like feeling confined and sweaty. I had to wear moisture wicking socks! They were wonderful and I never felt sweaty and uncomfortable!

Thanks everyone.
I think I'd go with the traditional type of crocs for me and the kids. I'll probably take tennis shoes too.

I don't like the ballet flat type crocs, I have a couple pairs, on I like to wear but the others really hurt my feet.

We like to go on 10 day trips, and go, go, go! We've found that we kind of need both to give our feet a break from the other type of shoe. And on days when we want to ride water rides, we wear crocs. No wet socks that way.

I am so excited about some of the new Crocs that they came out with. I just got an email today, and they have come out with a new one that is more durable on the bottom, so that is awesome. As soon as mine start to show wear on the bottom, my feet start to kill! I have really bad feet, and it is terrible. I have to make sure that I don't wear my crocs too much before Disney. For flip flops (Capris) I have to wear them just enough to get used to the thing between the toes so I don't get any hot spots, but that is it. Can't have any wear on the bottom for Disney!

I wear my Croc sandals all the time!! I have a bad back and was worried about how I would hold up in them, but they were great! A little slippery when wet though. I have the Cleos, which are flat, and the Patricias which have a bit of a heel. Love'em!!

Thanks everyone!

I'm going to take my crocs (the original style) and I bought a new pair of sketchers today that I'll have nice and broken in before we go.

Keens are our favourite theme park shoe, comfy, not too hot and work great in rain too!

I love crocs but keens are the best shoe I've ever worn in disney. Last october the forecast for our oct. trip was rain 4 of 7 days. I was not letting that stop us from having fun so I went in search for the best all weather shoe I could find. Every shoe salesman we went to told us the keens were the best. After 5 stores I finally gave in to them and bought everyone in my family a pair. I wore them everyday and love them. It ended up raining for 30 minutes the entire week and I still found myself more comfy in them. We go to disney 1-4 times per year and I've walked in crocs, every brand of running shoe, etc. Keens are hands down the most comfortable. My wife even stopped complaining about her feet hurting:worship:. Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

Croc Capri flip flops for me! Pretty much the only thing I wear all summer even at home. Super comfy and zero blisters! :thumbsup2

I bought a pair of Mickey Crocs at DisneyWorld a few years ago an they saved my feet. I wore them with and without socks.

I have since switched to Sketcher's ShapeUps - all three styles.. sneakers, sandals, and casual shoe. I can wear them all day and I don't have any blisters or aches in my legs/ankles.

The best answer to this question is what feels best on your feet.

It doesn't matter what works for everybody else. Why? Because everybody else is different. They don't weigh the same. They don't walk the same. Their foot size isn't the same. Their bone structure isn't the same.

If you're going to WDW in the summer, think about what shoes you wear around town at home when you have a lot of walking to do. That's probably the shoe you want to use at WDW.
