Crocs or no Crocs in the parks?

I may be in the minority, but I didn't find them comfortable for walking long-distances. My back killed me both days I wore the crocs (no problem with sneakers or leather sandals) and I got the most blisters with them too. I like my crocs to use as "outdoor slippers" for walking the dog in the morning, etc, but I won't wear them for long days on pavement anymore.

I wear the flip flops that do not look like "crocs." My girls are 2 and 5. They refuse to wear them. "Mom, I do not wear rubber shoes!" They are fancy girls. If you do wear crocs I would plan on bring two different styles. That way if you do have a blister or irritation you can change your shoe. It will give your foot a break every other day.

Love my crocs. I am not there for a fashion trend. I want comfy blister free feet.

I don't see how they COULDN'T rub blisters! Every single pair I have ever tried on has been HUGE on me. They will be fine in length, but the width just swallows me whole. They're even "too tall" for my feet. My feet slide around in them, bad. I bought a pair of the Adara online, thinking they might be better, but no dice... I put them on, they are just the right length, but I can get two fingers between the top of my foot and the straps, and I can actually turn my ankle WITH the shoes still on, soles on the ground. They felt very unstable.

Just a tip, I don't think they are made with narrow feet in mind. I think they work best for people with very wide feet. I'm going to keep mine, just for when my feet swell in the last month or so of pregnancy and I can't fit in anything else!

I totally agree.:thumbsup2 Both my kids and I can't wear plastic sandals, crocs, flip-flops, etc. for any length of wear or walking. They are plastic and they rub and give us blisters. Crocs especially are roomy and rub even more than normal sandals. I can't get over the fact that so many people wear them for walking all day in WDW with sweaty feet. We just can't do it. We wear cotton or moisture wicking socks and comfy sneakers with good support. Occasionally we bring extra socks to the park and change throughout the day.

Ask me how much I loved my crocs when I spilled a large Coke all over both feet a few years ago at Animal Kingdom (no lids...grrr). A quick trip to the bathroom, washed them in the sink with a little soap, dried them under the hand dryer and voila!! A happy crocs customer indeed!!!

I live in mine all summer long, from the minute the snow is gone, until the snow flies again. I now have both my kids converted too, and it's the only shoe/sandal that they have ever used that doesn't give them blisters!!

I agree that most of us wearing them aren't doing it for the fashion! :sad2:

Although I have narrow feet, I don't have trouble with them. Actually the opposite, that my toes tend to rub sometimes, although I'm buying the correct size. I have learned the "toss them in the dryer for a minute and then wear them around quickly" tip, which stretches them where you need it. I keep a pair at work and as soon as I get behind my desk, I slip off whatever I'm wearing, and slip into my ugly Crocs!

I don't think they're meant to be a form-fitting shoe. I think of them more as a portable, comfortable platform for my feet. You know those special mats they sell for people who have to stand a lot at work - kind of the same idea!

Definitely Crocs! =)

Exception: All-day Rain out days. They tend to be slippery on certain surfaces, including some forms of concrete.

I've never owned a pair of crocs, but I've never been to the parks either. I plan on getting my DD and DS a pair of crocs (DD wants the mary jane - Disney - type) DS wants the clog type. DH will never wear them - thats just how he is - tennis shoes and socks. I will probably buy a pair of the flip flops. I love wearing flip flops, wear them all the time. I hope the crocs are comfy and wont give me blisters between my toes

Crocs are ugly.

My ex-husband used to clean pools in shoes that looked the EXACT same.
I refused to let him wear them for any other use. This was before they became known for anything other than work utility shoes.

To this day, I am surprised that people are so blinded to the fact that they are hideous. These will eventually go by the wayside, just like fanny packs and tight rolled jeans. Yes, I know people still wear fanny packs... but they always agree that it is not on fashionable terms. With crocs they are still attempting to be "trendy."

Wear a great pair of tennis shoes. Maybe then you won't look back on the pics in 20 years and say "what was I thinking!" (although, those pics are kinda fun too).

I agree... crocs are ugly!!! BUT... I wouldn't go to Disney without them!! There's no way I'd ever go back to wearing sneakers. I'm someone who worksout often and has had many pairs of athletic shoes, but there's nothing that compare to my crocs for walking long distances. My feet don't hurt at the end of the day, they are not sweaty, if they get wet I just dry them off, i don't have to worry on water rides, and they come in tons of styles. I have different colors and styles to work with lots of outfits while I'm on vacation. Years from now when I see pics I'll think "Yup, they weren't attractive, but my feet felt terrific!!!" :goodvibes

Crocs rule....:worship:

I would never wear anything but Crocs in the parks again, what a differnce in how your feet feel.:cloud9:

However, I do not just wear them at Disney, I wear them all the time both at home and on vacation. Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and my feet have never felt better (I have arthritis and Lupus). Highly recommended by me.....:thumbsup2

Crocs are never a good option since they are ugly and uncomfortable. You can wear them around your hotel since they are only good as house shoes.

I swear by my Croc Cleos ! They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn to WDW. The only problem I had was once after riding Kali River Rapids and getting soaked, I walked right out of them because they were sort of slippery. Other than being careful when wet, they're fantastic. Nope, not the most attractive shoes out there, but I'm all about the comfort !

I love wearing my Crocs to the parks. :goodvibes They are ventilated and cool and dry quickly after the wet rides.

Everyone is different and they are not good walking shoes and uncomfortable after a while to some people, but for those who love them, they are great park attire.:thumbsup2

I personally would not think of going to anyplace where I expected to do significant walking without wearing a good walking, cross trainer, or running shoe. There are a number of brands that make these, but I do not think crocs qualify.
I cannot think of anyplace where I do more walking than at Disney.

I have tried them and they are not comfortable for me, especially for a week or two in the parks. I have always like the better Teva sandals. They form fit to my feet after a few weeks of break in and are perfect for warm weather. I also have a pair of Keen sandals that I wear when I want toe protection. I will probably take both pair with us and alternate if I need to.

I've never worn Crocs, since I have narrow feet and I think they're ugly. I'm tempted to get the Cleo ones though, since I don't mind the look, and my mom has them and she loves them. She has arthritis in her feet and doesn't wear anything else in the summer. I was planning on wearing good sneakers and socks, but it was very hot and humid this past weekend, in the low 90s, and I tried walking around in that, and I couldn't take it after about an hour, so I've got to go with something more breathable. I can't do flip flops that long though. So I'm going to give the cleo crocs a try.
