crocs nile ?

i just got mine in the mail. they fit fine but the back strap seems too long.
i did a search and someone said they would wear them with the strap off.
is this possible? the strap is too long to fold up like you can with the beach shoes. can you shrink just the strap part? any info. is appreciated.

I'd send them back or see if you can find a store to exchange them (or at least the straps). It sounds like you need a smaller size and then stretch the straps. It could be that the shoes you have had the straps stretched out. I have two pair of Niles. The shoe part fits pretty snug, but the people at Taylor Shoes showed me how to stretch the strap to get the right fit.

i tried folding the strap up but it does not work like the regular crocs (beach).
this strap sticks way up over the top part of the shoe. also, i can't wear a smaller size because these fit the soles of my feet perfectly. maybe it's supposed to be a loose strap? they're really comfortable - i'm worried that when it gets hot the strap might rub.

You can remove the straps on the Nile. Just peel them off the rivet, like unbuttoning a button. Then you won't have to worry about them rubbing.

duh - i didn't know you could do that but it is sort of obvious that you can isn't it. thanks to all who replied.
