Crocs going out of business?

I was in Olympia Sports today and asked about Crocs (we live in VT so they don't carry them typically in the winter) and the guy said they were "phasing them out" because they're (Crocs, not Olympia) going out of business. Has anyone else heard this? I checked the Crocs website and didn't see anything of the such.....

That's been the rumor for awhile now. It's kinda hard to believe because it seems like everyone wears them. :confused3

Oh NOOOOOOO! What are we going to wear on our feet at Disney then??!!!

A few months back I read an article on Yahoo! about Crocs going under since their sales have dramatically declined. Sperrys seem to be taking over. I mostly see children wearing Crocs. I hope I'm able to find some though. We leave for Disney this Sunday and I planned on buying a new pair Friday since mine are a bit worn out.

I have a pair of Croc and a pair of Sperry slip on boat shoes. both are super comfy..

got the Crocs at full price (ugh, but they have the leather top) $50 and the Sperry's on sale from $65 down to $25.

I read this on CNN awhile back - maybe late spring? I have to admit I will be glad to see them go....sorry to the fans....

don't worry.. we will all stock up on them during a sale and have them for years...

but then you will have to deal with the orange and yellow PUMAs from our european neighbors, which IMO, is worse.

Someone told me yesterday that Crocs was supposed to go out of business but they were bought out so they should be safe... Don't know how true it is, just what I heard.

This rumor freaked me out.

I know I am completely out of style...but I wear my Crocs almost every day (work in healthcare - they are comfy!)...

I went to search Google to see if this was true...and THIS thread came up. :rotfl:

It seems like there is not much on the internet about it lately.

Someone on the DIS will know. popcorn::

Shoot if you are out of style in the HC field, then most everyone I know who is a nurse is too. I think 90% of the people that I've seen in the HC field wears them. All 3 people on my delivery team wore them (w/ socks) the midwife, my nurse, and my son's nurse. They all swear by them.

I really hope not! I am new to crocs because always found them ugly and didn't see the point of them. I kept reading about them on here so I decided to try them before a recent trip and its like I have new feet! I recently ordered a pair for fall! I don't have an arch and my feet hurt when I go to the mall so I really love the way they no longer hurt! I don't get the original style I try to get the other styles which are alot better looking. Hopefully that one poster is correct and they are safe!

stocked up on Athens flip/flips (5 pair - 1 new pair come summer - set for 5 years!), but i guess i'd better stock up on my other styles just in case!

My husband mentioned something during the summer and i freaked out so grabbed a bunch on sale

I pretty much wear crocs after work and on the weekends, so this would really be awful for me! I just purchased the Crocband ones and am currently "breaking" them in while at home. So far, so good! Of course, I never really had to break any of them in. Please don't let this be true!

I bought two pairs that are very "uncroclike". They are cute little ballet type flats and they are THE most comfortable shoes I've every worn.
It's unfortunate that another Canadian company is going out of business:sad1:
