Ok, after reading on here how wonderful Crocs are, I went out and bought a pair today. We leave for WDW in 6 days and I can not wait. :cheer2: My question to you all is.......When you wear your Crocs around the parks, do you wear them with socks or not? :confused3 I just want to make sure I do not look like a fool.

TIA
Debbie

we did not but you could I guess...

we all LOVED ours the whole trip (until I threw away my dd9's at the MK!!)

They were great park shoes and my feet never hurt and legs were never sore!!

I would say do not wear sox because these babies dry so incredibly fast that the socks would stay wet and feel icky...

you can also wear them at the beach (the sand goes right through them and rinses right off while you are wearing them!!)

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!

A lot depends on the style and your comfort. I always wear socks- navy to match the shoes- because there are holes in the shoes. However, I have not worn them to WDW yet, not until Dec. So, I don't know what I'll do there, probably wear the socks woth long pants and my Crocs.

If it was summer and I had a light pair, I would see how they felt before deciding. With my new sandals, I do not wear socks.

No socks! DD5 and I both wore our Crocs everyday of our trip in October. It rained daily and the shoes couldn't have worked out better. I think socks look dorky for one, plus as the other poster said, wet socks inside of shoes would not be comfortable. Even in cooler weather, I'd still go with out socks.

don't they get stickey when your feet get hot?( thinking like the Jellies my kids used to wear)

That is what I was thinking.

Thank you all for your help. What I will do is wear them this week and see what is right for me. (I am a teacher and always on my feet) I can not wait to go. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

thank you again everyone

I have the sweatiest feet in the world and must wear socks. It would be okay to have them on a few minutes while walking down to the pool or something...but anything beyond that I'd be slippin' and slidin'. I also have a problem with my toenails hitting the holes on top when I walk (I know that sounds really weird--but I swear I keep my toenails neat and trimmed!). So dorky or not, I'll be there with my no-show socks (hey, it could be worse!). :teeth:

I wore my Crocs all summer long without socks. And also without when in WDW in September (hot, hot). But now that we are having some cooler weather here in Indiana I started wearing them with socks with my jeans. I loved them before but I can't believe how comfortable they are with socks. I will be wearing them all winter. They would sometimes rub against my foot this summer but now I never have that problem. So, if it is not too warm in December I would opt for adding the socks. However, if it is warm I wouldn't because I think they would feel too hot.

I have never worn them with sock. Your feet dont get sticky in them. Well mine dont!

Okay....have to ask...why did you throw away dd9's CROCS at the MK? :scratchin

And for the OP...wear my CROCS without socks since I've owned them in April...even last weekend in downtown Chicago with the temps in the low 60s and that breeze coming off of the lake...not a problem. I've found that on the rare occassion that my feet start to feel either too warm or too cold that it only lasts for a couple of minutes.

Have had mine since April. Broke them in at a NASCAR race and have never looked back since!! I have three pair and I wore them all summer. When your feet sweat, they dry within minutes because of the air holes and you are most likely walking with air going thru the holes.
Winter is coming and I don't know if I will wear socks or not. I plan on taking my tennis shoes to WDW just in case, but most likely, the CROCS will win!!

I would also like to know which model most of you are wearing. The Cayman looks like what I would most likely buy.

I've purchased both the Beach and Niles...prefer the Beach by far! Why? I've got wide feet and the Beach fit my wide puppies better. I ended up giving the Niles to my sister, who had grimaced when she saw my Beach, but once she tried on the Niles she was sold...kept walking around the room..."these are comfortable....these are comfortable".

Actually, the Cayman and the Beach are the exact same shoe with the only difference being that the Cayman are a "more true size" running in whole sizes while the Beach are S, M, L, XL. I have the M which says women's size 8 - 9. Also, on the website they list a model, Aspen, which used to have an equal style called "highland", but I'm not sure if the two styles are different and if so how. Also, most retailers will have the Beach style, unless they are a larger retailer. To find a store near you, just go to the website...

The Highland make your feet EXTREMELY hot and sweaty, even with socks (especially with socks!), so I don't wear mine anymore. I bought them for work, because gravel kept getting into my Caymans, and the Highlands are completely hole-less. So, I don't get to wear crocs to work anymore.

I love my Caymans. They fit beautifully on my size 11+ feet. My feet don't sweat at all in them. Unfortunately, I have multiple foot problems, and they don't offer enough support for long days in the parks. I have orthotics now, which must be worn with my running shoes, for long days on my feet. I save the crocs for around the house, gardening, shopping, and errands.

They used to offer a style, Metro, which had no holes on the tops, but holes on the sides. Maybe they'd offer enough ventilation to keep them cool. I kind of doubt it, though.

Crocs used to offer socks that went with the shoes. Do they still offer these? They'd be cute.

That is tremendously helpful! Thank you, momsgoofy! :goodvibes

I do both. there are days I wear socks and days I don't. At the parks I find that I mostly DO like to wear socks with them. Not because my feet slip around because they are wet, they don't but because I like the way it feels.
:cool1:

Ok, I just found something called Crocs Camp Clogs at sportsmansguide.com (http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=215121). Does anyone have these? It says the strap can either be worn behind the heel or forward to be worn as true clogs. Does the strap on the Beach model do this? It doesn't say on the crocs website.

Thanks in advance!

You know, I have been tempted, but these things just look so ugly on the Crocs site. Do they look better on than they look on their site?

No, they really don't look any better on. :rotfl: I just want happy, comfy feet! :flower:
