Last week while in Disney I wore my Crocs that are about a year old. Part of the bottoms are worn down. I nearly fell several times because parts of the ground in Disney are slcik when wet. I noticed this outside of Pirates and the ramp to the train station in particular. Just be careful if you have older Crocs that you plan to wear to the World! My feet were comfy all week but I had to walk with care! Beware!

I've also seen on a CM website that Crocs often get eaten by escalators. So be careful in the Land, coming out at Pirates and to get up and down from the station at TTA.

if you look on the bottom of your crocs and you do not see treads (the wavy lines) - it is time to get new crocs - you will slip everywhere it is wet - not just Disney!!!!

crocs are horrible...they aren't meant for walking in

Well, gotta disagree with you. Maybe for YOU they're horrible....but for me they are godsends. I've had trouble with my feet my entire life.....expensive orthopedic shoes were the only route to semi-comfortable walking for me. Until a friend raved about her crocs and urged me to try them....I resisted for nearly a year until I was at her house and it had rained and we needed to get something from the car (dirt driveway)....I didn't want to get my expensive shoes muddy as they were my only pair and not easily washable.....she grabbed her crocs for me saying they were dishwasher safe, lol. So I figured, why not, I can be uncomfortable for 10 minutes of carrying stuff into the house. Instead it was like a miracle....they were MORE comfortable than the expensive shoes. We bought me a pair later that day at the mall and my expensive shoes are only worn for dressy occasions where the not-quite-as-attractive-as-I'd-like crocs don't fit in. AND I can tell you that there is a difference now when I go to the orthos and back to the crocs.

But yes, if you have no tread left they should be considered surfboards! Very dangerous if you're not prepared. But a new pair is pretty cheap so just watch the treads.

I could never bear to try on much less buy a pair of rubber shoes. They are just so hideous :scared: Id rather suffer the conseqeunces of not wearing them:upsidedow

Ofcourse, with them being so wildly popular, I know my opinion may not be a popular one, but to each his own. I'll stick with my sneakers:goodvibes

You do have to be careful when it's wet...the ground can get slippery. I know someone who 'went down' at Boardwalk....those boards get slippery if you hit them just the right way. But, if you're careful, it should be okay.
Ugly? Yep, they truly are. But, they are the one thing I can wear that allows me to be on my feet, all day and into the night, without pain in my back, knees and ankles. Rubber? No, they are not rubber. They are a resin...quite comfy. I've tried the 'knockoffs' and they just don't feel the same to me...I wear only the true Crocs. And I have to buy a new pair every few months. Otherwise, they do get slippery, and less cushiony. But, for $30 a pair, I don't have a huge problem buying a few pair every year. I use the 'old' ones almost like slippers around the house!!

They may not be the best looking pair of shoes but they are extremely comfortable and they're the only pair of shoes that don't hurt my feet at the end of the day.

ROFLMAO!! That's exactly what it's like. I just wiped out on my old sandal style ones last night. I went to Macy's today to buy a new pair for our Sept trip lol. Gonna get the cute new wedgie ones. Love 'em.

I have new Crocs for WDW and my old Crocs I use to garden and weed at my house :goodvibes

Like flip-flops, crocs are just not for walking all day. You should wear something that wont slip on wet pavement or come off easily (flip-flops). Wearing crocs around the house, for doing yard work, walking the dog, ect is fine. I would not use them to walk the parks though.

Also it is best not to make yourself stand out as a tourist. Orlando's crime rates are high and wearing crocs and fannypacks send off a red flag.

I wore the flip-flop crocs this year for the first time and they were really comfy. The crocs that cover your whole foot make my feet too hot!

You're joking right?::eek: I don't think criminals care if you're a tourist or not. I must look like a tourist and send up a red flag everyday of the week, as I wear my crocs that often.:lmao:

Okay, silly question I know, but curious nonetheless...has anyone tried to "retread" their crocs?

I purchased a pair of Nike shox last year for WDW. My sister bought Crocs upon arrival. My feet hurt, so she said she would switch shoes with me for the day. I loved her crocs so much I went and bought my own. I love walking in my crocs.:woohoo:

I could not disagree with you more. I've tried EVERYTHING from the cheapest to the most expensive shoes to wear at WDW. All pale in comparison to Crocs (I wear Beach). Yes, they're ugly. But they are DEFINITELY made for the long haul. After finding Crocs, I was able to walk around the parks from Rope Drop to 2:00am EMH at MK with NO pain in my feet, legs and back. They are DEFINITELY made for walking.

The first crocs weren't the cutest shoes I"ve ever seen but over the last couple of years they have become pretty cute!! I have the mary jane ones and got them about a week before our trip last year and was worried I'd have to break them in or whatever but never had too..they were SO comfy all day at the parks, chasing the kids, if it rained, they dried almost immediately....they were truly better than my sneaks..that spent most of the week in my suitcase!!!:cool1:

Cool beans, now I didn't have to say it! :rotfl:

Crocs are all that I've worn in the world for the last two trips. I'm doing the Expedition Everest Challenge next month, and am wondering if it is doable in my Crocs...:rotfl:
