I took all your advice and let my kids wear crocs at disney with socks and both my kids ended up with blisters from one end of their feet to the other. So my advice is to bring extra shoes with you if you plan on wearing crocs to the parks with or without socks. This is the first time we went through almost a whole box of bandaids at WDW. They stopped wearing their crocs and put there running shoes on and the bandaids still didn't help. Word of warning to everyone!!!!!

Moleskin is the best for blisters should you get one. Bandaides just seem to make it worse.:thumbsup2

I second this, we always have moleskin with us when we are doing a lot of walking no matter what kind of shoes we have on.

Can anyone tell me can we get that up here in Ontario, Canada?? Or do I have to go to the states and "go oh boy!!! shopping again!!!!!":rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I also heard Body Glide is a lifesaver for feet but it *might* be slippery with Crocs.

I would think you could get it at any pharmacy, Walmart, etc. The brand I use is Dr. Scholl's - sold in the foot care section. It's pretty common, you shouldn't have a problem finding it.

Can I ask a question? Did you break in the Crocs for a couple months before your trip? Or did you just slap 'em on and go all day?

I am sure you know this, but ANY new shoes need a breaking-in period, and Crocs are not an exception. I bought new sandals for my last trip to WDW, and despite having about a month to break them in, I still got blisters. Because not only could I have used more time to break them in, but a full day at the parks, walking pretty much constantly, is a very different animal than wearing them a couple hours a day at home.

My advice? ALWAYS bring a second (or even third) pair of shoes so that you don't rub the feet the same way every day for 6-8+ hours of walkikng at a time. I luckily had two other pairs of shoes--the other two being some of my most worn shoes in my arsenal, which could give my feet a break from the sandals I had bought sppecifically for the trip.

I'm personally not a fan of crocs. They are just not supportive enough for the amount of walking one does at Disney. We bring a few broken in shoes and rotate. We've never had any problems. I personally prefer the waterproof type of shoes: Keens, Merriells etc.

Just thought I would post a different experience. We all wore Crocs on our last visit to Disney World. Me, DW, and (at that time) 4yo DS. We LOVED them and had no problems whatsoever, and they were the only shoes we wore for 10 days. I am severely overweight (just had gastric bypass surgery last week), and this was my first trip to Disney where my feet did not hurt at all. Usually after about a day and a half of walking, my feet would hurt the entire remainder of the trip. No blisters and no hurting feet = greatest shoes on earth for our family, but as with anything, your mileage may vary.

Also on a side note you have to buy the crocs a little bigger then a normal shoe. They are not supposed to fit snug rather your foot is supposed to fit in the middle.

(see my crocs test drive thread)

I agree with the other posters. Crocs must be broken in. I have been wearing mine every day for the past 2 months, then I test drove them for 3 days this past weekend at DLR and the San Diego Zoo. They worked like a charm, my sensitive feet, though, will need 2 or three pairs of shoes for a 7 night trip. . .that is the only way I can make it work for my feet. . .

That's what we are doing this year except we are including crocs in the mix too. I am in love with the funky teva tennis shoe/sandals I bought. I have (and yes, I know some may consider this excessive but I am your typical female with a serious shoe problem) 4 pairs of shoes to bring with me to rotate for use at the parks.

Moleskin is available in Canada. I have seen it in our local parmacy at Sobeys, and at the dollar store aswell. It should be with foot care products like insoles etc.

Sorry for the double post. The first time I tried I got an error notice. Apparently it posted anyway. Go figure.

Moleskin is a type of padding this is frequently used for blisters etc. See the link to the Dr Scholls site.

It's all a matter of personal preference and individual feet - Tara and I swear by our Crocs at Disney. We rarely wear anything else to the parks (in fact Tara rarely wears anything else at all!). My first pair in fact I bought on a Saturday and on Sunday spent a 9 hour day in EPCOT -no socks, no blisters.

I don't have an issue with support, I have high arches and my arches do not ache after a long day. Many folks in the medical profession wear them and they are on their feet all day. Tara's pediatrician will not wear them now because she wore them all through her residency. Not that they weren't comfy - she just never wants to see them again, and does not need them in her daily office practice.

I tried Crocs, but my feet are narrower. All crocs seem to be too wide for me.
They are very cushiony, but since they fit so loosely, I ended up turning my
ankle. Sooo, needless to say, I didn't ever get around to trying them at
Disney.

I love the tevas and merrills.:cool1:

Sorry you had problems

I have not had any problems with mine at WDW and plan to take them again on my next trip
:confused3

Many of the nurses where I work wear crocs. I do wear mine but I always wear them with socks at work. I only go without socks when I am at Zoos, museums and amusement parks. . .

I didn't think I would like them but now I am a big fan and I am buying some crocs thongs. . .
