Crocs as badshoes???

My 11 y/o dd got a pair a few weeks ago. I think the other kids are looking at her like she's nuts but she loves them. And everytime we go to the store to get some for me, they never have my size in the style/color I want. Seems those nurses are grabbing them all. So, I did order through the company directly, but still couldn't get exactly what I wanted. Wanted the Cayman but they can't keep them in stock, so I got the Beach style since summer is coming and I don't care about all those holes on the top. They have to be more comfy than my sneakers.

LOL @ this thread!! And here I thought I was the only one who thought these were the most hideous shoes ever! And I thought Uggs were bad...

Then again, I can wear my sketchers around and be perfectly fine. But I did also work in a retail job where I'd stand for 8 hours in high heels, so I think my feet are used to abuse.

If someone proved that wrapping your feet in two rolls of tinfoil then slipping on actual extra large brown cardboard shoeboxes was comfortable and good for your feet, I'D DO IT!! Looks be danged. If it's comfortable, good for my feet...count me in. I'm waiting on my first order of crocs to arrive as we speak. :goodvibes

Oh, and for the pants down to their crack and underpants showing remark....do you think that would make my butt look smaller???? :rotfl2:

These are very popular amoung the swim team set. In fact, the only place I saw them before was by the pool. My DD wanted a pair, but the booths at the swim meets only carried adult sizes. Gee ... if I knew they were all that comfortable, I woud have tried them one!

I read the crocs thread and ordered. Got my bright red ones yesterday and I'm wearing them at work today!! My first graders are really impressed--they like bright shoes! Really, though, they are very comfortable! I'm ordering more in the other colors after school today if my feet still feel this great! I think they'll be great for Disney, too.

Gee, it's "all the rage" here to wear big, baggy jeans down below your butt-crack, with your boxers showing - doesn't mean that it's all that great a way to dress. I tend to think it's extremely stupid, actually. So, I'm not impressed about people being 'hip' by wearing really ugly, crappy looking shoes. It's fine if you like them, but don't think everyone's impressed... :cool1:

:rotfl2: This is one of the funniest posts I've ever read! I have to forward it on to my folks! I first found out about Crocs from my parents - my Mom is 74 & my Dad is 86. They live in Boulder & have had them for over a year. They LOVE them.

Now I love mine :cloud9: I'm a 36 yr. old housewife. I'm going to have to tell my parents that they not only have to get rid of their Crocs but their big, baggy, butt-crack, boxer showing jeans as well!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

mmmm... I'm about to get a pair for dd (3) - she is obsessed w/ them! First Crocs - next tatoos & piercings!!! :rotfl:

That's the first I've seen/heard of them! (I guess I'm in my own little world sometimes!) They really are ugly! They probably don't look as bad with long pants. My 16 yo DD would never allow me to wear these! She has a fit when I need to put on my glasses to read something! :flower:

I'm still on the fence. I tried a pair on, and can see how the FIT is comfortable, but I was bothered by the little bumps covering the sole of the shoe. I don't know if they wear down, but I kept noticing them---and you don't want to keep noticing your shoes.

I don't think they are that ugly! They remind me of gardening clogs.

I just can't decide... :confused3

Whatever happened to just wearing sneakers?

:confused3

Pretty much for me I hate wearing shoes and socks for that matter. I LOVE sandals and sneakers are for sneaking as runners are for running :rotfl2:

I have pretty much decided I'm done with socks. Okay it's only March and there is still snow on the ground but I can't help it. Next the slip ons and sandals come out basically it's b/c I'm too lazy to bend over and tie anything up :teeth: Besides it's the summer and too hot for full shoes

So I suspect I will have to break down and get my first pair buying ordering on line (I'm an on line ordering newbie).

I agree with the UGGS...I don't like 'em and never bought 'em. But, I really don't have a reason to wear 'em. My feet are hot natured and living in the south...there's no call for ugly fleece lined boots. If I were in a snow riddled part of the world and they were the warmest thing for my feet...VOILA...I'd be an instant UGG supporter....But look at the names of the shoes we are buying... UGGS has GOT to be short for...UGLY..no other logic for it!.and...well....I'm figuring CROCS has to be an acronym for:

Comsetically
Rotten but
Orthopedically
Comfortable
Shoe

And remember, I just ordered my first pair so I have time to break them in to wear to WDW! :jumping1:

Forgot to add something...IMO CROCS are really no uglier than Birkenstocks. (and it seems like everybody still wears them from time to time) I saw some lady at my doctor's office today wearing her Gray open backed Birkenstock's with red and navy striped socks!! It's 40 degrees outside.....I guess what I'm saying is...there are ugly shoes EVERYWHERE! Lord, trying to buy sneakers for my son is enough to make me hurl sometimes....I mean, what 11 yo boy in their right mind needs a pair of red patent leather high tops with shiny silver accents to wear to elementary school????? Oh, for the record, the crocs I ordered were a nice tame BROWN...If I like the comfort of 'em though, I'm gonna order a canary yeller pair just to irk the heck outta DH..they won't match a THING I own!! :rotfl2:

I cannot wear any kind of "sneakers". I have tried so many pairs of tennis shoes and all of them hurt my arches so I have to wear Eastland sandals which are hard to find this year so these crocs are doing to be great. They are really comfy.

We just returned (staring at suitcases) today, and both my husband and I wore our Crocs - AWESOME shoes, especially since it rained several days. While they do look like plastic, they are more foam like - incredibly light.

anyone ever bought the Nile version. those are the ones I have been looking at?
no stores in my area so thinking of ordering them on line..
