Crocs And Pain

I've been trying to find the Crocs Reliefs at local stores without success. I had no idea that you'd need a prescription to buy these shoes! Thanks for the information.

I ordered a pair of the clouds for my DH and a pair of the relief off the Crocs rx site.

I then received an e-mail and called them with Credit card info
I did not need a prescription and we received both pairs within 4 weeks approx. If you can be reimbursed by your insurance company you would need a prescription.

My DH LOVES them.
It is the 1st time his hips do not bother him when standing longer than 5 min at a time.
He wears them all the time now. He had previously tried the regular cros and they did not help him.
I love the regular crocs and have 3 pair but decided to get a pair of the reliefs also as I have had heel spur surgury on one foot.

I have plantar fasciitis, and Crocs are the only shoes I can wear if I'm going to be walking for long periods of time. The fake ones don't feel as cushy to me, but I only tried the ones at Target and Wal-Mart.

I love mine for standing for long periods of time but NOT for walking long distances. I wore mine for two days last week at WDW and my feet and ankles swelled so badly I looked like I had no ankles! I am a very thin person with SKINNY ankles so this had nothing to do with weight. The crocs just don't provide any ankle support. I currently have a very bad spur on the back of my right heel and can't wear any shoes with a back on them so I was stuck with crocs or my Teva Mush flip flops. The tevas were much better but I still would have given anything to be able to wear my trusty old Reboks. I told the family that I would not be going back until I can wear normal shoes again!

When we went to WDW in June 4 out of 5 of us bought and wore Croc's or Airwalks. I have Crocs's and the 3 boys bought the Airwalks. For 3 out of 4 of us they were great. DH was so cute in his green and yellow tye-dye shoes . My DS11 who has a very wide flat foot got a blister on the inner side of his foot where the strap connects wearing his Air Walks so we are going to stretch them out before the next trip or he can wear my other pair of Crocs. I will be getting the Mary Jane style tomorrow will let you all know how they work out.

Anyway I will definitely continue taking my Croc's to WDW since the one day I wore tennis shoes my feet were killing me by the end of the day and we didn't even go to the parks that day.

I have plantar fascitis and crocs didn't work for me. They didn't provide enough arch support. Initially they felt great, but by the end of the day my legs hurt. I think my feet hurt from trying to keep them on my feet all day. I never tried the Payless version. Now, I only buy shoes with a hard distintive arch - usually Birkenstock - hate the expense, but don't want to have any more shock wave therary, either!

BTW - plantar fascitis and heel spurs are NOT the same thing!

Make sure you buy them in the correct size. Your toes should not touch the shoe at all. My sister's good friend had diabetic neuropathy and he bought a pair of Crocs about a year ago. He bought them too tight and because of the numbness he couldn't feel that the shoes were rubbing his toes until he took them off and his toes were covered with blood. He wound up losing that foot and about 2 weeks ago he passed away from infections from the surgical site that didn't heal. Peggie

That's a very sad story, but not one that can be blamed on Crocs. That would have happened with any ill-fitting shoes. People need to take responsibility to buy shoes that fit, not blame the manufacturer.

Please remember that they are not orthopedic shoes and should not be preceived as being "good for your feet." They are plastic molded shoes. If you don't have foot problems then fine, where plastic shoes, but anyone with legiment and foot issues, should not wear these shoes.

Go to a very good shoe store that specializes in special shoe needs and find a good shoe.

Actually, Crocs *are* built with orthotic soles.

I just ordered a pair of Reliefs from the Crocs site, and I hope I get them in time for our trip. It said that shipping would be about 10 days. The shipping cost was $9.95 which I thought was high for just a pair of shoes that weigh next-to-nothing and for a 10 day delivery instead of a quicker delivery.

I wear a half-size and ordered a half-size up instead of a half-size down. I hope they fit OK. I got the khaki color, as I can wear those year round.

No, you don't need a prescription anymore. I just received my "relief" pair and I love them. When they first came out you needed the OK from your doctor but not anymore. The only thing I found is that they run small, I have to send them back to get a size 9 (I normally wear an 8). I've never had to buy a size 9 in my life!

How long did it take you to get the bigger size? I also wear a size 8 and my shoes should be arriving anyday now but if I have to return for a larger size they might not be here in time. We leave Aug. 22.

Just recieved my Crocs in the mail
I ordered them last week for me and hubby and i already recieved them. I got the reliefs and my hubby got the islander. He's at work now so I cant say for him but mine fit good. The toes dont touch the end when I walk so I guess that is what they are considered to fit????? They are VERY comfy. The only problem is my big toe nails. They are not long, just long enough cause I want to get a pedicure on them before we leave and they seem to touch the top of shoe when I walk. Does anyone else have this problem??????

We're a mixed family. I've lived in my metros since last october when we got them..even though they are slightly too tight and didn't stretch the way I'd hoped. (yes, these shoes need to be in "wider" widths for us Fred Flintstone footed people).

My wife on the other hand, developed neuromas in both feet about 2 months after switching over to her metros. Proof? No, but a strong correlation that they at least contributed to the development of the problem. Switching back to New Balance with proper supports has relieved these problems.

Maybe we'll have to take a look at these extra special (and more expensive) varieties they've released recently...my wife did love the comfort, until we started having problems with our feet.

I totally disagree. I have numerous foot and back problems and until trying Crocs, I spent over $100 on each pair of shoes and had to purchase special inserts from my doctor. Before Crocs, I'd walk all day at WDW, come home, sit for 30 minutes or so and when I got up, I could barely walk. Not now! After going all day in my Crocs, my back doesn't hurt, my heels (plantar fascitis) are pain free and I'm not tired ... don't even feel like I walked all day!! I tried Target's brand and threw them away. Although I have to say I don't like the look of Crocs on the feet, at this point I really don't care. They have made my world a happier place!!!

Unfortunately I still have to wear white tennis shoes during the day at work but walking to and from the parking lot to work I'm in my Crocs!

If I remember right, it was only 5-6 days until they came. I need to reorder them soon.

I have the problem - it's like your toenail catches sometimes on the holes at the end. It doesn't hurt it is just comfortable at times.. Plus when I first bought my crocs I ordered them on-line but the last two pairs I bought at Hallmarks and they seem to fit just a tad tighter but I think they are stretching each time I wear them. It is not alot just enough to be more comfortable.

That's funny - I was about to post that these need to come in narrows for us boney-footed people: they're either too short or too loose. *sigh* Oh sour grapes... who want's 'em? They're ugly anyway.

Received my Mary Jane style of croc's yesterday and love them. They are a little lower cut so they aren't tight over the instep. I have a wide foot plus a very high instep. The Beach croc's are fine, but sometimes feel a little tight. I got the MJ's primarily to wear to work as they are slightly more stylish.

I think there is several styles of CROCS on the crocs wbsite. One is more geared for better circulation for Diabetes. If you dont care for the little nubby massagers (at the end of the day they can get annoying) in the soles of the CROCS my family has "Nothinz" and we like them even better than the Crocs. They're more pliable (spongey?) and are really good quality (not an "off" brand or knock off). Perhaps you'd like them if you like Crocs. Oh, and thy're a little cheaper too.

I think I'm going to thake the plunge and buy my third pair of Crocs -- this time, the Mary Jane style. Since I've already got Beaches in light blue and purple, I may stick with sensible black this time around.

That's funny ...they're either too short or too loose.

I should restate my width request...it's really the instep that's way too tight. But, like anything else where the manufacturer chooses to go with a one size fits all mentatlity, you'll have us folks outside the standard size diviations complaining.
