Crocs Alternative?

I'm a guy and I can admit I LOVE my crocs. I have had them for several years and they seem to last and last. I wear them in the parks and have no problems with my feet. They are so comfortable. I love them because they can slip on and off and at the same time, I can run in them if I have too. In the heat, I can sweat and there is no issues or odors. They work great at the beach, water parks, pool and everywhere. The big problem: they are so ugly and now really out of style. My kids are always giving me a hard time about how ugly they are. So, my question: what is out there for a guy that could work as an alternative? They should be more "flip flop" like than "shoe" like where they can slide on an off easily but flip flops slow me down too much as do having to strap and unstrap sandles all the time. My feet should be able to breath and I should be able to wear them with bare feet and not have to worry about sweating in them. And of course, they should be comfortable. Any ideas?

I love my Teva sandals. Mine are made to be water friendly, are made of a bacteria proof material, so no foot odor. Mine don't slip on and off, but if you wear them loose they would....they have 3 or 4 adjustable straps so you can loosen or tighten them around your ankle or across the top of your foot....

I just got some Teva's last week and while I havn't taken them to the parks yet I think they will be my new park shoes. I have worn them quiet a bit doing everything from work to walking, I have horrendous feet issues, severe plantar facicitis and bone spurs and havn't been having much pain at all. Last night I was on my feet for hours preparing a meal for 50 people and didn't even have a twinge of foot pain or exhaustion. I am shocked at how well they are doing and plan on investing in another pair and converting DH over to them as well.

I would say ignore your kids, crocs are definitely still in style. Or go onto the crocs website and look for a different style.

I urge you to take a look at the crocs website and explore new styles; they make crocs for men that look like loafers, sneakers, and boat shoes, but still have the same comfort and support as clogs. Nothing's more important at Disney than being comfortable and able to move easily, not even style, but there ARE crocs that aren't hideous!

I was just looking at the website (Crocs one) the other night and thinking how they have suddenly moved with the changes I also love my crocs, although being a woman gives a few more options - I don't wear the cayman style ones anyway.

A question for those of you who wear Teva's to the parks. Do you take other shoes if you plan on getting onto 'wet' rides? I mean if you went to AK and did the Kali River Rapids, would you wear different shoes for that day? I had a look at some the other day but my first concern was they they look like shoes you really want to keep dry. Thanks

Tevas are perfectly fine to get wet. Just don't take them off until you can wash your feet well or you'll get an ungodly stench off of them. At least the ones that I've worn.

I was thinking Keens too and was just on their site showing them to my teenage daughter who replied "they are uglier than the crocs". I think I'll just order a new pair just like the ones I have - Caymans (now called Classic) in khaki which IMO is the least ugly color.

You could always go with Birkenstock or Sanuk. Sanuks are fairly comfy and low key, Birks are ridiculously comfy, but are a bit expensive. I wear my Birks at WDW all the time and have never had an issue.

There are different kinds of Teva's...many of them are specifically designed for hiking around and in water. I am on my second pair of Tirra Tevas (actually I bought 2 pair this time, in case they discontinue the style - one black and one blue). Men can get the Tanza model or something similar.

I just got my DH the boat shoe style crocs, he loves them! They are really cool, leather on top, croc on bottom! You can't tell they are crocs!

OP....check out crocs.com. There are so many different styles now that you can pick a pair that isn't outdated.

But I will tell you. So what if you wear outdated shoes??? You will see TONS of people in them. What looks better you in crocs able to walk, or you limping around like an old man because your feet hurt??? I say go with what is comfortable.

If you don't, when you get there and see the majority of people in their crocs you will kick yourself.

Tell the kiddos this: Dad is getting new Crocs to make them feel better. Then treat yourself, you deserve it. After all you are paying for them to go right????
