Crocs + Airport = Disaster for Me!

DH and I left for WDW on July 17. We had a LONG security line and only had 20 minutes to get to our terminal (on the other end of the airport no less). I wore my crocs because I thought they would be easy for going through security, and we were going to Animal Kingdom when we arrived, so I thought they would be good for riding Kali River Rapids.

Well, we were running to the terminal and I am not a runner, at all, and my plastic shoes kept getting me caught up with that commercial tile flooring. So the first time I fell, I recovered and moved on.. then we realized DH's boarding pass and driver's license were still in security, so we started running back. And then I really put on a show... I fell again, this time hard on my right knee, and everything in my hands flew away and I was a mess.

We finally made it to the terminal, where they slammed the doors behind us. I arrived at WDW with a banged up knee, bruised leg, and a bruised hand. What a way to start the trip!!

I'm not putting Crocs down, I LOVE mine and they did work out great for AK. Just thought I'd share my story! Today when we came back, I wore my tennis shoes!

Ouch! Oh goodness, what an ordeal. Some shoes really don't work on some surfaces. What kind of commercial flooring was it?
Note to self: Never run in crocs!

Ouch! I'm sorry this happened. I am planning to wear crocs on our airport days because I can easily slip them on and off at security. I'll remember not to run in them!

I've found that Crocs, especially sandals (Niles) have a tendency to "catch" on lineoleum-like floors, have this problem @ the mall.

Try washing a few times with soap & hot water-I think it helps...removes coating perhaps?

BTW, I always throw all my Crocs in the shower @ least once a week to sanitize them. When they get dull looking, I wipe them down with Armor-All & it makes them look better than new.

I actually keep my Crocs on when I shower except to wash my feet at the end. Keeps me from falling. Before I was limited to tub baths due to falls

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to remember no running in crocs.:tiptoe:
Glad you were able to continue with your plans for the day.

I wore the Niles Crocs last year to MGM, and it had rained earlier, and I slipped on the paint (it's VERY slippery when wet) I fractured my knee cap. I NEVER wear my crocs if it rains, and they are really bad on the floors in stores too.

My son caught his beloved Crocs in the escalator last weekend at the airport. Scared him pretty bad. Luckily dh grabbed him before his foot got pulled in with it! I'm glad I wasn't there, I probably would have done a mommy wig out. VERY cofy but really can catch on sertion things.

Glad you weren't hurt badly!
