We'll be checking in on 9-18 for 4 nights in a cabin. Yay! This will be our first time in a cabin, we're usually tent campers. Do you think using a crock pot will be a problem in the cabins? I didn't think it would, then I started second-guessing myself with "Would you do that in a hotel room?" sort of doubts. If I were on a regular site, I wouldn't worry about it.

Apologies if this is a silly question. And thanks in advance for your information and help.

I have seen several references on here to people using crock pots in the cabins. Since they are individual buildings and cooking is allowed, I don't see how it could be a problem.

Thanks for reassuring me! Planing for this trip is so different, with home 8 1/2 hours away instead of 35 minutes away!

I don't see how it would be a problem.
I leave my crockpot on in my RV and you leave your crockpot on at home.
I think that you will be just fine.
Don't forget to use your CrockPot Liners to make your clean up a breeze.

I've never used crock pot liners. Speak to me more of this magical thing!

Do they have a plastic-y smell? Would it matter that my pot insert is aluminum instead of the usual stoneware stuff? Do they often leak? Is serving straight from the lined pot a problem?

I'm planning to make crock pot ziti and pulled pork during my visit. The ziti would be a serve-from-the-pot dish, but the pork loin gets removed to a bowl for shredding.

Right, no plastic smell and as long as you don't poke a hole with a fork or knife, they do not leak.
Also, it does not matter that your CrockPot is the coated aluminum type.
They come in just 1 size and fit any CrockPot out there.
I won't leave home without them.

agree you can use crock pot in cabin as they have a full kitchen in them. also agree about the liners, i use them all the time. only problem i have had with them was with a applebutter that cooked a lot longer than most things. i find the liners near tha zip lock and sandwich bags at the store. one size fits all. i do use the liners when i make **** pot roast beef for easy cleanup. never had a plastic taste in the food.
