Has anybody RECENTLY used a crockpot in their FW cabin? I sent an email to Disney asking about doing this, but haven't heard back yet. I'm just worried that I'd start dinner cooking and when we got back to the cabin it would be unplugged.

If I don't use the crockpot, do you guys have any cheap dinner ideas other than hot dogs and the obvious stuff that we could cook in our cabin? :stir:

Thanks!

We always use one in our 1 bedroom villa and never have we had a problem with it being unplugged I am sure people use them all the time in the cabins after all isn't that what you have the kitchen for. I would also recomend a frozen lasagna in the oven and KD/Mac N Cheese etc.

We used a crock pot several times during our cabin stay in February. We had no problems at all, and mousekeeping left it plugged in. It was so nice coming back from the parks and having dinner waiting for us when we got there!

is a crock pot included in the kitchen? on the list all I saw was a "dutch oven". I was told that a dutch oven and a crock pot are not considered the same thing. ???????? :confused3

No, a crockpot is not provided in the cabin kitchen. It's strictly B-Y-O-C. :goodvibes

There's no problem with cooking in a crockpot in your cabin! The cabins have full kitchens, so they're made for cooking in! :goodvibes

Thanks for your advice, everyone! I just got an email back today from WDW:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

We have contacted Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and they
advised that you are welcome to bring your crockpot. We look forward to
your visit
.

So I guess I'll start looking for some new crock pot recipes :) We're driving so there isn't a problem bringing it with us.

whole chicken on low with a little water on low all day. When you get back dumb a bottle of BBQ sauce on it. My mom has the fix it and forget it cookbook. She loves it. We learned from the cookbook you can put whole potatoes in it and bake them. :goodvibes I would recommend looking at the above thread and the Fix it and Forget it Cookbook.
