Crock pot ideas

OP-I would definitely make sure you are using a newer style crockpot if you are going to leave it on while you are out so long. I had a problem with an older crockpot MELTING on the bottom. The leg started bending in and It only had 3 legs to start with. Luckily I was home! Called the company and they stated the newer ones were metal on the bottom to prevent this. Anyway, they were nice enough to send me a brand new crockpot!!!!!

I kind of had a similar problem w/ my brand new crock pot!
I always put a whole chicken plus spices...nothing else...get a nice stock in the bottom of the pot...
The new one had NO stock...almost had a burnt bird! Needless to say we are back to the old crock pot!
