I need the help of fellow "Croc in Disney" lovers! Yes, I know they are hideously ugly but the regular ole' original crocs are all I wear at Disney. So far they are the only shoe that I can wear for multiple days of walking and feel no pain. That being said we usually travel in the cooler months and I wear them with jeans. Our next trip is set for this June and I really don't want to wear those big clunky things with shorts. This is where I need your advice... I know different shoes work differently for different folks... but for those of you who find the original crocs amazing for walking what do you suggest as a lighter, more flip flop / sandal / better with shorts kinda shoe?? I have Teva flip flops which are awesome but they do not last me through days of walking. Are there any other crocs or anything that you find works well for distance walking and don't look silly with shorts? Thanks in advance!! :worship:

uhhhh, crocs. If you love them in the cooler months you will love them in the hot months. Who cares what they look like.

I wear a croc sandal - I cannot remember the name -- maybe the Capri - I love them I wear them as much as the regular crocs at disney (in my head I think they are my "dressy" sandals) they really are comfortable. :goodvibes

I don't think I can do it with shorts. I know how ugly they are but you gotta do what you gotta do for comfort... However, I just don't know if I'm ready to be that comfortable with shorts... LOL!

I like the Cleo style Croc sandals. Can't say how they compare though since I've never owned a pair of the original Crocs.

The crocs Rx silver fox is kind of like a mary jane...not really flip flop style, but i love them!

Check out the official Croc site, they have many styles to choose from

Check their website. I own two pair of their flip flops, the regular style, and two sandal styles. They are all I pack for WDW. All are different colors and styles. They all have the same base so my feet are happy with any style. Panama City, Florida has a Croc store if that is on your way down you could stop and try on many styles. If not, order on-line plenty of time ahead to swap them out if needed.

I wear Crocs Capri , they are flip flops, I love them
I wore them all around Disney last may and did not have a problem. We were there for the torrential moonson downpours lol, and they dried super fast too, which was great.

Just sayin. :)

I would go with what you know works rather than experiment.

Is it safe to assume that any of the croc sandal styles will provide a similar level of walking comfort as the originals if they have the same kind of base? I've never owned anything other that the originals so I'm clueless on this point. There are several styles I like on their website, just worried about comfort level but someone suggested I could try them out & return them, good idea!

Well I never owned the original, but the Croc Capris that I have, have nice support, they are NOT flat like other flip flops, they really have support in the heel, they are wonderful!

Also a good point. Hmmm.... what to do, what to do..... :confused3

Stick with Crocs but if you change styles buy them soon so you can break them in and make sure they will work for you. Last thing you want are rubbing points and blisters.

I wore both the crocs cleo and patra styles (very similar, the only difference is the band that goes over your feet) around the world last year. My feet never hurt one bit. As soon as it gets warm, this is all I wear. I swear they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I would try get a pair and try them before your trip.

I wear crocs year round in town. Just can't stand to have anything enclosed on my feet. I couldn't care less what other people think about my shoes.

I did switch to the flip flop style for our September 09 trip to Disney. The regular crocs slide on my feet anytime they get wet and tend to cause a blister or two. But I need the croc support for my back.

The flips worked out perfectly. I even wore them with my dresses to the signature dinners we had. Many women had flip flops on for those dinners so I wasn't out of place with them.

I wore the original Disney beach style when we went to the World in 2007 and have worn them as my everyday house shoe since then. I ordered the Cleo and Patricia a few weeks ago so I could try them out before our next trip. They both have the same footbed and are wonderful.:lovestruc The Patricia is a little dressier, but still VERY comfortable. I plan on taking both styles, I got several different colors, to wear for our 13 day trip.

Check out both the Crocs website and Shoebuy--you can use eBates to get cash back through the Shoebuy website.

Thanks everyone! :cheer2: I'm feeling better now. I think I need to shop today and try some shoes out before this trip!

Try the mary janes or the capri flip flops. I love my capris, but I got mine when they still offered them with the canvas thong, and I don't like the new ones as much. But since you don't have the old ones to compare the new ones with, you might not care. ;) I tried the others (Patricia and Cleo, I think) but they both rubbed my feet in places.

I have worn crocs pretty much all of the time for the last 5 years or so. The beaches are sized with 2 sized per shoe, like a 8/9, while the newer ones have individual sizes. I remember having trouble with this when I bought my first mary janes. Also, I tend to wear out the tread pretty quickly and then I have fallen in wet conditions. It looks like they have more with rubber treads instead of the croc material. I tried the trailbreak, but it did rub the top of my foot wrong and became painful. I was able to return them to the store.

Also, I have no problem wearing them with shorts, as my comfort, especially at Disney far outweighs looks. They are also so common there, that I don't think anyone thinks twice about seeing them. When they first came out they did look big and odd, but now I think they are perceived as being normal.

Good luck shopping.
