I've begun planning our trip in Sept and was calling to check rates. They ask my name and zip code now every time I call. I want to continue calling to check on prices with some of Mary's discount codes, but are they keeping track of how often I call now?

I started to notice that too. I think they're keeping track of which hotel you call for, and when you called. Yesterday I talked to someone who actually have my home address in the computer (the last time I booked thru CRO was in 97).
I also feel that they're relunctant to give out prices. I asked for DC rate, but I dont' have my card # with me, but I gave them the code. They only say 20% off rack rate. The same with AP rate. Just a generic 20% off. Hmmm.

I'll keep trying though.

I'm not sure if they keep track of how often you call. When we were at WL at Easter the manager told us they are implementing a new system to keep track of all your personal info along with where you stay, and how frequently you go to WDW. When I was asked this info last week they already had my address and my most recent trips in there. The CM said it will save from asking all the info every time once you are in the system.

are they keeping track of? If they intend on giving return/repeat customer's rewards for their loyality, then you should tell them that's what you are doing. But at this time I haven't heard of such a program. I am not sure I like them Keeping Tabs on me!!! Especially, if I am calling frequently to check on rates, and try for better prices.

Just my humble opinion..... :D

Gosh, I really do wish they would start a Loyalty based program, and you could get credit for Disney Store purchases, and vacations, and tickets and etc etc etc...

Hmmmmmm... anyone from Disney reading this???;)

When I called CRO today they asked for my name, address, telephone number, and e-mail.
This was the first time I've been asked all these questions before even asking for any rates.
BTW, I got an AP rate of $89.00 + tax for PO-Riverside for November.:bounce:
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

around this somehow? I wonder if they will offer different rates to different people? Or refuse to change a reservation after 3 changes? I'm sure they can use the info they have already for what ever they want.

I called CRO today and was asked for my name, phone #, address, email, and my sons birthdate...why in the world would they need to know this?????? I think that they are getting a little too personal!!!!!!!

If you don't want Disney to have this information, just politely refuse to give it.

When they ask for your zip code or address, say "Sorry, I don't want to share that information -- I just want to check on a room rate today." I'd be very surprised if they didn't back off...

They can't make you give it. Just decline to, and they shouldn't make a big deal out of it.

They asked me for my daughters birthdate too. But that wasn't until we were well into the reservation process. I guess when I said she is a junior the CM wanted to make sure. I'll give them anything they want. I'm hoping it will mean some perks in the future. If they want to get personal information on us, they'll get it one way or another.

Has anyone actually asked them why they want the information?

The CM said she had just been trained on the new computer system and soon CRO would be phased out. They would have the WDTC payment policies. Also, they would still have AP rates but with the WDTC policies. You have to ask for CRO now to get the CRO payment policies.

I must admit, I was taken aback when the CM asked me for last name and zip code before even quoting me rates, but I think they've always maintained past reservation information in the computers. Once when I lost my confirmation sheet I called to request a new one and apparantly all of my past reservations popped up (including ones I'd cancelled). I've made LOTS of changes to my reservations and I've never gotten the feeling that the CM's were anything but polite and helpful (some who were sharper than others, but always polite even if some didn't go as far as others to help out) and never got the feeling that they were "looking down on me" for trying to get a better price.

I'm guessing that they're just trying to streamline the reservation system a bit. I really enjoyed not having to give my entire address (it's fairly long!). Also, if you're holding multiple reservations, it would be great to be able to check on what the system has currently for you to make sure that you cancel the appropriate reservations. It might make transferring payment easier also!

About asking for the child's birthdate, I'm betting that that has something to do with the transition between free/child/adult prices. If they have the child's birthdate on the reservation then it doesn't matter if the child is 9 when you book the reservation a year in advance and is now 10 when you're there... the child's age will be keyed to their DoB instead.

As far as CRO goign away and WDTC rules going into effect, all I can say is "yuck!" Having to pay in full 45 days out for a room only (and also losing deposit if you cancel within that 45 day window, ick) is pretty yucky. On one hand they are saying that they are charging for valet parking based on the "industry standard"... well the industry standard for hotels is one night's deposit and generally being able to cancel by the day before! Funny how the "industry standard" can be applied only when it benefits disney. Anyway, I think if they do phase out CRO and use WDTC rules exclusively that they will have to have the same cancellation policy as they do for DC card holders who are getting room-only reservations, and that's full refund if you cancel more than 5 days out.

again and the same lady who didn't seem to know much before. I wonder if they are directing certain calls from certain states to certain CM's. I may just wait till another day or shift.
