Mouseplanet reports that ALL of Critter Country will be closed now until November 3rd.

Just thought people going over the next month might want to know.

I think it's pretty crappy of Disneyland to give NO advanced warning for this.

Just had a look on the official Disneyland website and unfortunately this is true. I'm coming from Melbourne, Australia for a long stay in the parks. Splash is my favourite ride and I booked my non refundable airfare to LAX before they announced Splash closing while I'm there in October. I even did my research of when it closed previously and thought it would happen as usual in Jan/Feb/March and not a semi-peak time of October. I've spent the last few weeks disappointed but still super excited that I could walk around the area and go on Pooh and the gift shops in CC. So this whole area closing without notice (while they have the right too) is disappointing. I know Disneyland primarily is a locals park and if something is down you can always go back next month but it's also a once in a decade trip park for many Australians and other domestic and overseas guests and we do our best to plan in advance. Oh well My fiancée and I will still have the best time ever and I'm super excited but still a little more notice would be nice.

Not just Splash Mt, but Winnie the Pooh and everything else over there. That's a big chunk....GONE. I remember being very frustrated last year as many of their refurbs would only get 1-2 weeks notice to the public, including E-tickets like Soarin'. I also remember taking some heat for that frustration. But I still stand on this...if DL has a refurb coming, announce at least at the 6 week mark of their lame calendars. WDW can give you 6 months of advance calendars and minimum 3 months on their refurbs. But not at Anaheim.

To the Team Disney Anaheim execs: this is garbage! Why do you treat your customers (i.e., takeontheworld) like this? There's a lot that I'm very happy with when it comes to customer satisfaction at DL. But when it comes to this kind of stuff, especially in recent years, you get a big fat goose egg.

Ah man, I wanted to FINALLY ride Pooh this trip around!! Guess I'll have to wait til June before I can. Booooo

This is a bummer for those visiting soon. Mouseplanet speculated this is due to the railroad and river construction.

Could be to get ready for the holidays too? I believe Santa will be in Critter Country this year now that the Big Thunder Ranch area is no longer an option. I hope they have Pooh et al set up somewhere else for meets. They are still my 17 y/o's favorite.

I just read this on Facebook & told DD. We always go to Pooh Corner each trip for a special treat. I know I can get treats elsewhere but we love this store & the Winnie the Pooh ride too :(

Wow. It was really congested in the park last night. It's been a real bummer to not be able to get away from people by walking back by the animals and now they are closing another whole area. It's going to be even more of a madhouse trying to get around all the people in the areas like New Orleans Square, Fronteirland and Main Street.

I'm wondering where they will do the meet in greets for pooh and the gang for Halloween party...

Disney Parks execs think Program Management requires a DVR.

When we were at Disneyland in February 2015, all of Critter Country was closed and all of Condor Flats. I think it made the parks seem more crowded.

My son is 3 and may get diagnosed with autism soon. He's never been on the Pooh ride but he has watched in on youtube a lot (he is a big fan of Pooh movies) so I am so worried about the ride being closed AGAIN on our trip in February. I am even more worried now that they don't seem to care to give guests any warning. Ridiculous.

I think anyone who is bothered by this and has a trip during this time should definitely call and complain. Or email or something.

With any business ( and yes I do consider Disney a business FIRST) , as consumers we have the options of voting with our wallet and also providing feedback.

Recently I had such a HORRIBLE experience at a local chain store I walked out rather than give them anything even though they had something I needed and have trouble finding at most retailers.

This applies to Disney as well obviously and while I understand some aspects cannot be changed ( trips planned/flights/tickets/AP purchases, etc.) feedback as suggested can still be shared. It's kind of like voting though I'm not political at all just trying to relate it , if we don't vote we can't complain meaning basically if there isn't a voice no matter how small it feels nothing can change. However sometimes change has to come from our end rather than expecting them to change around us.

The lack of notice does suck , I don't think anyone can argue that. I did however see an ammendum starting at least Pooh would be open peak times for what it's worth. ( Saturday and Sunday).

There's a lot in flux right now and as short as the notice is I'm glad there's something and we have resources like online. What I find value in and don't see as a big deal isn't going to coincide with anyone else because we all are individual , however I think it's good to speak out just don't take it out on the little guys, just be respectful yet firm on your feelings.

Awwww, man! This is so disappointing! I feel like so much is going to be closed for most or all of our trip. And yes, I know it's the off-season and also that refurbs need to be done, but it is still disappointing. The lack of notice about closures is poor customer service, as far as I am concerned.

This has to be something unexpected related to the construction over there. Could be as simple as needing to cut power or water to that area while they work on new hookups or something. We were literally just there this weekend and nothing seemed amiss so the sudden closures must be due to unforeseen circumstances. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. I'm sure they are worried about these closures and how it will affect crowd levels as well. This attitude of "they don't care" is really pretty disrespectful to all the employee to work really hard to keep this park running every day.

I think you may be right. Another board was reporting that the closure has something to do with the construction on the ROA. And I totally agree with you that Disney does care. Could they be better about announcements? Yes. But that doesn't mean they don't care about guests.
