I'm trying to get things squared away before I make my ADRs for the upcoming August trip.
There are 4 of us, we like to rope drop, and are staying on property. We are not currently planning to attend any of the MNSSHP. MK is our favorite park, so we have a lot of time there on purpose. :)
Any thoughts or advice on the following? Thank you!

Arrive 16th - no park, pool time and Disney Springs
17 - HS
18- MK
19- EP
20- AK
21- Day off
22- MK
23- EP
24- ?? (Might leave open for a repeat of whatever the kids like)
25- MK

I'm debating about switching the 22 and 23. Right now we're running opposite of the EMH... but we could actually get up in the morning to take advantage... and it might be worth it for another ride or two on SDMT and SM. I'm also thinking about splitting both of those days and hopping between the parks on both days...

Thanks!

On the 24th I would put another AK day. That way you can try to get a FOP FP for the 20th or the 24th and then a NRJ FP for the other day and take the time to do the different trails and see shows.

Agreed. You might need a "Plan B" for an FOP FP and this would be the perfect place for it.

You may also want an HS day later in the week in order to get Slinky Dog or TSM FP+. Doubtful you'll get one for that first day.

The 23rd is a MNSSHP date so if you switch the 23 and 22 you woukdn’t get a full day at MK. Might still be decent plan though as most people report pretty light crowds on party days I believe, have never been myself though.

Doing at least one of their MK days on a party night day would be a great idea. You get so much more done on these days.

AND OP, you wouldn't need FP+ at MK on this day, so make your FP+ for HS and hop over there around 4:00. You'll want to be leaving MK by 3:30 or so in order to avoid all the people coming in for the party.

This is what we did and it worked well. NRJ can be had earlier in the trip, but FOP is difficult so I would be sure to add the second day.

I agree. MK on a party day is a good time to get a lot accomplished and then head out early. If you get FP for Slinky, or any of the DHS attractions, you can stay and enjoy the evening entertainment there. It really is a lovely park after dark.

ETA: I would also book a few FP on your day off. You have a lot of time so if you decided you wanted to hit a park for a few hours that day you are all set. If not, no harm no foul. The additional days are not expensive, especially when you consider the cost of the entire trip. We always have pool and resort time in our plans, but it is always noce to knwo that if you had a glitch in one day, you have a backup plan in another.

You guys are awesome.
So would it be better to have 17 at EP, and then 19 at HS or will that few days not matter in terms of FP for SDD?

Our day off - I'd have to upgrade the tix for an extra day (which isn't the end of the world, so it might happen) but the kids are hoping to hit a water park, weather permitting. DH just wants a day he doesn't have to go in to the park. :)

I like the idea of making FP for the second park on 23... :) Brilliant!

You might get lucky and be able to get Slinky later on your third day but with a group of 4 I would expect it to be late. You could use that as your water park day and push HS to the 21 and I don’t think you would have a problem getting an earlier time then. If you’re solely looking at it from a FP perspective I would do EP on the 17. You should be able to get anything there at 60 days out they just might be later in the day. Also do you plan to have park hoppers? If you plan on rope dropping most days you can always park hop later for an ADR.
