Hi everyone! I'm totally new here! We just booked out trip for the middle of August. I haven't been to Disney in at least 10 years so I'm a bit lost. We are doing the delux dining plan. My dd is going to be a couple weeks away from turning 3 when we go, and the other is 6 months! Please give me any input/tips/recommendations. Here's what I have planned (We're staying at the poly)...
-Lunch at Crystal Palace
-Breakfast at Tucker House
-Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
-Dinner at Akershus
-Lunch at Hollywood & Vine
-Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

What other places must we do? We have tons more meals to use up :) DD loves Minnie/Mickey and the Princesses - especially Aurora. Is there are character meal that has Aurora? Also, we are staying 8 nights/9 days (Sun-Mon) So does that mean we have 9 days of dining plan? Would love some suggestions as to where else to eat. I've been trying to get in Ohana but no luck - hoping when we get there maybe we'll be able to get in.

If you are staying 8 nights, you have the the dining plan for 8 days ... so 8 Table Service and 8 Quick Service meals. The credits are good until midnight on the day you check out though so if you have any left over credits you can use them on what would be the 9th day.

I think you have picked good choices. Some may say that it is too many character meals but I am not one of them. :goodvibes Unless you think there is a chance that one of your little ones could be afraid.

I have never been to Akerhaus so I am not sure if Aurora is there. Someone will probably know. I think she is at Cinderella's Royal Table but that would take two credits and generally doesn't get very good reviews.

I haven't eaten at H&V but I have read here that breakfast is better than the other meals. I am also not sure if the characters are there for lunch?? I don't think they are there for dinner. We are actually trying it for breakfast next trip as a way to get into DHS early! :thumbsup2

Keep trying to get 'Ohana. It is definitely a fun meal. People cancel all the time and the odd reservation will pop up. Also, consider it for breakfast ...served buffet style. Much more relaxed than other character meals. Mickey, Pluto, Stitch and Lilo are there. A nice way to start the morning since you are staying at the Poly.

looks pretty good. I'm not loving your H&V lunch choice...would pick 50s PTC over H&V in a heartbeat!

Other good options....if you want another character meal, we like the Garden Grill..nice plated meal [so no rush for the buffet] and Mickey in farmer gear [which is a nice change].

we also really liked the Captain's Grill at Yc and the Grand Floridian Cafe at the GF [both unsung gems in my book]

If you want a signature, Flying Fish is a must do for us [usually more than once]

I really fell in love with Sanaa last trip. DS5 loved the animals while eating and the food was quite good.

Have fun!

Aurora has been at Akershus every time we went for the last 4 years, but we always do the breakfast. She can also be found in the garden in France for meet and greets.

Dining plan credits are based on the number of nights you are staying.

Aurora is usually at CRT. We saw her last December.
