Criticism Wanted for pictures

Hi guys I have just been excepted into a section of my local newspaper called The Voice. I was expected to turn it a CD of my work and i wanted to show you guys and wanted your opinoin.

nice photos particularly like the sailing one, looks like summer to me
but you probably shouldn't include the epcot ball or castle, disney icons are trademarks and you might need permission to use it ( or the paper wouldn't publish it anyway due to that)

Yea thanks for that i will have to ask but those pictures wont be going into the newspaper itself. The pictures that I will take will be around the Springfield area.

Nice pictures, I like the tree one the most. The one i'd say could use a crop (im not an expert at all) is the winter scene with the water in the foreground. It looks really really dark, which kind of works with the trees one but the other one if you cut out the bottom open part of the stream where its not frozen, really changes it. I'm not sure, see what you think, i just dragged the picture onto the screen to the point that part was cut off.

They seem a little, I don't know if flat is the right word. Like they could use a boost in contrast and/or a defog sharpen. I can't pin it down. They're great pics though!

thanks guys for the remarks. You guys are right that the pics are a little flat and that they need something added to them. I'll work on that on photoshop.
