Has or will any brides be wearing a hoop crenoline? If so how many hoops? Was it easy to navigate in?

I am thinking about getting a 3 hoop crinny instead of a traditional one b/c it makes my skirt a little poofier. But I am worried that it will be a pain to deal with.

Also any brides wear gloves? I love the look of gloves with the strapless dresses, but again, I am hesitant. My DD who is my FG will have some that are elbow length, and I am thinking of doing the same.

Any thoughts?

I'm interested in this question as well. I'd like to have my dress very poofy, and I've looked at ebay for it, but it's so hard to know which crinoline is best for the dress. :confused3 I've seen that they have the 6 hoop mega crinoline (which is supposed to be their biggest one). Has anyone used this one in the past? I believe at the bridal stores, their biggest one is usually just 3 layers. :)

At my wedding, (this was 10 years ago), the crinny I got from the bridal store was about $100 and consisted of 3 layers. It's purpose was more of a slip than to make the dress poofy. It kept the skirt from going inbetween my legs and such.

Anyone else?

I love crinolines! I remember as a kid seeing some in the childrens department at bloomingdales and begging my mom for one. I was beside myself I was so happy when I finally got it a long while later.

In my belle costume picture I have a crinoline that has a lot more than 3 hoops. I think it must have at least 5 or 6. I love it! I think I might wear it with my wedding dress just because my non-hoop crenoline is so mis-shaped at the moment.

I love the idea of wearing gloves but I don't like the fingerless ones. Can you tell me how that works with gloves - do you wear the wedding band over the gloves?

Funny...I just cut the crinoline out of my dress because I thought it was too poofy...

I have I think the same type you mention from my first wedding as well- it's like a poofy slip. What I did when I was trying on dresses, was to wear TWO of these crinny slips. It gives me more poof than just the one, and it was perfect- I felt the hoop would be just a bit too much. And it's kinda nice to have something on from the original wedding:) You might want to try wearing two at the same time and see how that effect is for you!

I forgot to mention - the only negative about a huge hoop skirt is that its hard to sit down. I always have problems going on rides in the MK with my belle dress.

Ha, reminds me of my grade 12 graduation, my friend had a hoop and when she sat down, she accidentally sat on the hoop and up her dress came, right over her head...haha, haven't thought about that in years...

I wore a crinoline with a hoop skirt underneath.
It wasn't too difficult to navigate and the hoop kept the fabric off of my legs so that I didn't get too hot. I was a little too wide to get thru those metal entrance things at AAR, but overall that was the only problem. (I just squished the dress a little bit and got in fine)
I did have a slight problem sitting down... it was easiest when DH would help me with my chair (slide it in under me).

I bought gloves, but didn't wear them so I'm no help there.

I don't like the fingerless gloves either! But I like the look of the opera length gloves with the strapless dresses. I have seen some that are made for weddings, wear the finger has velcro on it, so you undo it to slide the wedding bands on, and then you fasten the velcro back up.

I've never seen anyone wear their rings over the gloves.

I think that I might try a hoop skirt and see how it goes! I just don't want it to fly up over my head either. Thanks for making me laugh at work.

That sounds weird to cover the rings up though. I feel like at wedding everyone always wants to look at the brides rings. The only time I have ever seen it done on TV, the bride wore white gloves down the isle then took them off at the alter - which I think is also really weird.

Please let me know what you figure out!
