Criminal Minds -- DIS Official Thread 1 (SPOILERS!)

Finally had a chance to see the episode over again. A few things stood out to me:

J.J said she was hired back because they were looking for a replacement for Prentiss and Rossi called her. So, she is NOT back at her old job as communications liaison (or whatever it was called.) She is a full profiler, now. That accounts for why she pointed out how Doyle's caritod artery was jumping along with his tightened forehead. She was proving she knows how to profile somebody now. (She is also trying to show the TV execs at CBS/ABC who fired her before, that her role isn't as unimportant as it was.)

Reid is learning how to shoot a gun better, but he still is carrying the revolver that Hotch gave him in season 2(?) instead of a semi-automatic that everyone else has and is probably standard issue for FBI agents.

During the last scene where Reid was doing all the shooting, he shot about 5 times. If he had shot one more time & unloaded his weapon, and had missed the target, he would have left himself defenseless. NOT a good move Reid. He was shooting against 2 unsubs with guns. :sad2: 6 bullets is not enough. (A semi-automatic like the Glock Morgan or Hotch has, has 17 rounds and one in the chamber. 18 bullets altogether.)

About Hotch: that chariman guy said Hotch was away on temporary duty. Garcia had said, "When the team downsized, he was assigned to lead an investigative task force." I'm sure if TG hadn't been able to successfully renegotiate his contract, that "temporary assignment" overseas would have been made a permanent RE-assignment.

Hotch had already been gone for several weeks before Morgan found Declan. Then Declan was under surveillance for another few weeks. Interesting how the Unit Chief can just be gone for so long. :confused3 Other than that episode when Elle was shot and Hotch was ordering that agent to take Elle home, and a couple references to Hotch at budget meetings, he never acts as a Unit Chief, only the team lead. :confused3 I don't get that. Do the writers forget he overseas that whole unit?

Rossi: When Hotch had announced that Prentiss was alive after all, Morgan shot Rossi a look. Rossi, looked down, averting his eyes. He wasn't surprised. Either he figured it out on his own, or he had been told.

I bet Morgan is going to have something to say to him about that.

If Emily hadn't made everyone focus on finding Declan, cutting off her hellos to everyone (bad writing there, we in the audience needed to have them be able to react more to her coming back, that was an abrupt cutoff & let down,) it was clear that Morgan was still affected. He will have a lot to say to Emily & Hotch, too.

Strauss did not address whether Reid was coming back to the team or not. She just asked Emily back. She WAS nice to Reid. She offered him a mint when they were sitting in the hall!

Okay, finally saw the episode...

I think this wasn't one of the best, mostly because they had to (a) bring the team back together, plausibly; and (b) the contract negotiations w/TG meant they had uncertainty. I noticed that TG had scenes/lines that could have easily been omitted or said by someone else, had negotiations not gone favorably (for us, the viewers).

Beyond that, I'm glad to see them all back, and looking forward to some great story lines this season. And, would it be too much to ask to have a few nude scenes of Morgan? Just a few...like 47...

On that note, funny side story--Dh's company was hit by an arsonist this week. Because they're federally reguated, the feds are investigating. he's on strict orders that, if any agents show up, looking like Morgan, he's to let me know. You know, in case they need someone to wipe the sweat from their brow, that sort of thing. Okay, I think I'm a creepy stalker.

:rotfl2: I like your thinking.

I like her way of thinking too! :thumbsup2

 I wonder, would you need an assistant?

bahahahahahaha. :rotfl2: Luv it! I'd like to apply for that assistants position too please! :lmao:

I just can't wait for 9PM. It'll mean no more football!! I've had all the football talk I can stand!

 I'm feeling squeamish already. I don't know if I'll make it through this episode.

Good lord this is a disgusting show tonight

Hotch still looks bad. And he needs a good moisturizer.

Maybe he was sick for a while. He was on The Talk just the other day and he looks fine. :confused3

Hotch is unusually happy tonight. I like it

I get why JJ couldn't tell Reid, but I feel so bad for him :guilty:

What Not To Do #386: Don't speak your thoughts aloud and antagonize the unsub.

They're back!:worship: Horrifying, freaky episode. But what a wonderful ending! Loved Rossi and la familia!

It was a cute ending. I love when Hotch smiles.
