I am really thinking hard about this...the Imagine will be $187 at Walmart on BF. If I get this machine than I can use my E just for SCAL and let the Imagine play with all the cricut products. What to do...

They did not have any carts in the ad this year, just the Imagine. If you look at the ad scans it is on the last page near the top.

I am a bit bummed that all Walmart is doing is the Imagine. The last 2 years, I have been there at midnight. Last year for carts, and the year before for the colored E's. I have no interest in the Imagine, so no stop at Walmart for me this year. Hopefully, there will be good cartridge sales for M's, J's and online. Otherwise, it will be a sad BF...so far I need to go out for luggage and maybe a wireless printer.

Do not forget about Menard's for carts (if you have one in your area). Last year they had a great price for carts and surprisingly M's matched! :goodvibes

I was hoping that Walmart would have Imagine carts to go with the machine...but alas, no luck!

I picked up a refurbished Expression with four cartridges at cricut machine.com for $59. :)

which 4 did you get??
someone remind me to get my paper doll carts back from my sister but then most likely I won't use them anyways:confused3

Cricut Machine is supposed to have a big sale on carts and machines. Lisa is that the sale you bought from?

The official site announced a big sale too, and a lot of the older carts were $19.99, but most were lites, seasonals, solutions. I HATE when they act like $19.99 is a big sale on a $24.99 cart! :headache:

I saw the Walmart BF ad for Imagine too and was thinking I may have to add this to my list...

UNTIL

I went on-line and saw the overwhelming horrible reviews for the Imagine (cricut.com, amazon.com, etc recent reviews 10/11 - 11/11)

I already have an Expression so based on reviews, I think I'll stick with that, unless I start to hear much better things about Imagine.

Anyone have an Imagine and love it?

So I spent last night and this morning reading reviews. I am nervous...it sounds like the imagine is not fully compatable with the G and does not have all of its bugs worked out. Oh how I would love one, but not sure if it is worth the headache. Why oh why does it have a 4.5 star rating on HSN from 273 reviews if it has these glitches. :confused3 Do people rate it high just because it is Cricut?:confused3:confused3

Their security is suspect. Many, many, many people have had their credit cards compromised after ordering with them, including me. Our "compromised charge" was $8400 worth of auto parts from some place in South Florida.

That's exactly what I plan to use the Imagine once I get one. And I will be HAUNTING Walmart for it. The price is cheaper than what I paid for my Expression at Walmart over three years ago. I am soooo lazy about loading different colors of paper into my E that it is rare that I turn on my Cricut. I plan to use the E for SCAL so that is why I haven't updated it.

Now I am worried about all the techincal issues though. I went lurking around the Cricut boards and it was a little scary. Oh well, at least I have a little time to think about it.

So am I. I've been waiting for a year for Provo to get all the kinks out of the Imagine. The crazy part of me says that I'd rather spend $187 on a machine that might not work and return it to Walmart to get my money back than spend what it's normally sells for and go through the hassle of sending it back to Provocraft. I'm sort of willing to take the risk hoping I might be one of the people who have no problems with the machine.:guilty:

I hear ya! I wonder if Walamart would try to charge an "electronics re-stocking fee" since it is technically an electronic item?

I feel the same way about this as I did when I got my Gypsy. I waited until after the big launch (a must with PC products because there are always kinks) but reading the message boards made me nervous. I finally took the plunge and everything was fine! It did and still does work perfectly and totally re-invented my scrapping style. It is odd how some people have so many problems and others have none.

I've either been very lucky, or my expectations are low...I've had Cricuts since they debuted in what, 2006? I haven't had any problems with any machines (other than normal wear and tear), I have a Gypsy and have gotten used to it, I wish they would have updated Design Studio, but I can work with the Craftroom.

They do make quality products, but sometimes they look ahead without paying attention to what is in the rear view mirror. They'd rather make something new to get consumers to buy than make something you already have better.

My intention in getting the E2 last month was to be able to use my other original E with SCAL until it died. As I am so heavily invested in cartridges, I HAD to have a Cricut machine. In my case, the E2 was the way to go.

They are selling the E2 at ACM this week for $249. After thinking about it more, if I didn't have one (and hadn't just spent a bazillion dollars on a sick cat), that's what I'd be buying. As much as I like the idea of printing, I don't see myself using the Imagine because I'm too cheap to buy print cartridges! :lmao:

I also have no problems with my Gypsy, even doing the updates. So it's on this basis that I'm hoping to have the same fortune with the Imagine. I just know I'd do more scrapbooking if I had a machine that didn't require changing paper colors in order to do layering. I was hired last week as a school librarian and this will help me as far as room decorations go. I'll also have more time to actually scrapbook during the holiday breaks, too.:woohoo:
