Just stuff we already knew was coming

Cindy Loo
Freshly Picked
Mini Monsters
Toy Story
Wall Decor & More

Also Cuttlebug companion dies for those Cartridges (minus Toy Story)

Retirements: All Mixed Up, Christmas Cheer (I just got this one in the mail on Tuesday with my Rewards points)

They are in the process of loading the handbooks. The Freshly Picked one is up, the other carts are listed but their handbooks aren't up yet.

Here's the link to the Cartridge Library if you don't have it already...

Got a chance to look at the handbooks...

Cindy Loo - I'll probably get this one because I like carts that have a border function. It also has a nice font that I think would be good for Disney scrapping. And while I like using SCAL, while making these altered letters sometimes it's nice to just whip out a cart, and I don't have all that many font cartridges. It also has a frame function...I just wish that on the Shadow key they had made a shadow for the frames instead of having an empty space.

Freshly Picked - This one I don't know about. It has a frame, WITH a shadow, which is good. But I'm not sure I would use the images a lot.

Mini Monsters - Cute cart, but not for me. With no kids, I just won't use it enough.

Wall Decor - Borders and font, which I already said I liked. But I'm not sure if there are enough images that I love. But some of the images I really love.

Toy Story - Handbook isn't up yet, but it's a Disney cart, so of course I am getting it.

I suppose if Freshly Picked/Wall Decor were available on the rewards site and I had points I would consider them. Or if the price of carts keeps dropping. The way things are going, I wonder if we won't start seeing $20 cart promos!

Nice review Hope. The lack of shadows I find frustrating. You can't really make good shadows in CDS like you can in SCAL.

I like the mini monsters cart. But....there are at least 4 empty spots on every page except for 2 or 3 pages. 4 empty spots = font, plus shadow. Why so many empty spots? A drippy goo font would have been perfect with this cart.

I am waiting to see what the extras are on the TS cart.

Thanks Hope for the link to the handbooks. After reading your review I went to check all of them out and I am glad I did. I had all intentions of getting Mini Monsters, but after viewing the handbook I do not think I will be getting it unless I can find it for $20 or under.

I am definetly getting Toy Story, so really no need for a handbook on that one. After looking at the other ones I might consider Wall Decor. I really like the font and several of the sayings and images, especially the castle.

This is OT but I'm new to the cricut. After research/experimenting I decided to use SCAL as my platform. I love it, but now I feel like carts are a waste of money. I really want the Toy Story cart, but I know it would drive me crazy not to be able to use my SCAL software with it. If I could buy the carts in a format compatible to SCAL I would.

What do other SCAL users do? How do you deal with not being able to weld, etc. with the carts?

Ooh, I think I will have to have Mini Monsters (it's just cute) and Toy Story!! Hope, it's so funny that you said something about that ball--when we went to WDW in Dec, we bought DS a set of bouncing balls to play with, and that's one of them! He takes it everywhere!!

I like the mini monsters cart, but agree that holes are simply wasted space...meaning wasted money for me. I would LOVE a drippy font!

i know you do and i soooooo want it.

but i need a lap top first....

if you give holly a laptop she'll want scal
and
if you give holly scal she'll want classes to learn
and
if you give holly classes and she does in fact learn
she'll then want a bunch of files
and if you gets a bunch of files she'll then need
tons of paper
and then
.......

Well, I have Cricut Design Studio, so I can still weld. Of course, I can't weld non-Cricut designs to a Cricut design so there are limitations. I can't just pick a font of my choosing; it has to be one from my carts. I think the other software, Make the Cut, does allow you to do this sort of thing. It's part of the reason they are getting sued...they made it so you could bring your Cricut copyrighted images into another program to work with.

You can bring copyrighted images into SCAL and cut them too.

thanks for this info -- really liking that Wall Decor cart (wish it had a good old-fashioned Peace sign to go with the phrases it has).

What is "Hello Thursday" -- is there one in June -- is it a web chat?

The third Thursday of every month ProvoCraft announces new cartridges. They send out an email and update the banner on their website.
