cricut gyspy died

I actually was going to try to scrap today(first time in months) and turned on my gyspy and the blue light came on and the screen remained blank.
I was really upset. I called provocraft support and got a great girl that helped me out. They are going to send me a new one. I was shocked. I have to send them mine and then they are going to do something so that I can resync all my cartridges to the new one. I thought I was going to cry. I have about 70 cartridges. I can't wait to get my new one. Of course I have 5 days off over next weekend and was going to plan a scrap night for myself so I hope I get it by then.
Anyone else have this problem?

sorry this is putting a crimp in your scrapping time...cool they are sending you a new one...I haven't had any issues with mine, but I don't use it that much...

You must have some luck. My friend Jo's Gypsy's battery died; she called PC and they told her she will have to buy a new one, send them the old and the new and they will sync her carts to the new one.

I told her she's nuts if she buys a new one.

I have to email to see what happened with that.

Lisa, things are crazy here. Summer in full swing and I'm working crazy hours. I'm going to take 5 days off in a row the end of next week so I can take the kids to the shore. I miss all you guys. Just put the disboards app on my phone so I can keep up wit everyone. How are things?

we leave a month tomorrow to go down to Atlanta, Charleston and Charlotte to visit friends and to show Megan Charleston - she was born there and Charlotte - lived there too....we haven't been down there since 2002 and its a bonus to be able to see friends along the way!

I saw your ticker! going to be a toasty trip for you all with the heat and humidity! happy Drew's allergies are doing better, good luck with foods there! I wish we could see you guys too! maybe next year, we are doing WDW thanksgiving 2013! or you could come to WA next summer

Mine died back in February, it was VERY sad and mad. The warranty that I purchased additionally from HSN proved to be a joke. So I called Provo Craft and they were awesome, I have over 200 cartridges and they were very accomodating. But of course now that I got that back, I got a Cameo and haven't touched my Cricut stuff.

Be thankful that you kept all your cartridges. I am floored at the people selling already linked ones on eBay, because when that Gypsy dies, you have to have those carts to get them linked back up!

My MIL and I share our cartridges so I would never think of selling the cartridges. I heard a lot of people were selling them. I also sometimes use the cartridges when we go on our scrap weekend cause the people we are with don't know how to use the gypsy and I don't feel like doing a class on how to use it.
I'm anxiously waiting for my new one. I hope it doesn't take too long

It was quick for me...the longest was waiting for the label from Cricut to ship it back. Once they got it, it was quick. Of course mine didn't come in time for a scrapbook weekend I was going on, I was LOST without my Gypsy!
