Cricut Elegant Edges -- UPDATE

I just need to vent about Cricut cartridges, and then I'll feel better.

I have been trying to find Elegant Edges for a decent price. Ohmycrafts and CricutMachine do not have the cartridge. Ebay has the cartridge for $59.99. which I am not spending. Of course, when AC Moore had the $39.99 sale at the end of March, my store did not have the cartridge. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from AC Moore that this week, all cartridges are $39.99, but my local store has no knowledge of this (did anyone else receive the e-mail?)

Maybe I should ask Michael's if they'd honor the e-mail??

Oh, and the last I checked, Cricut Design Studio did not have any updates past December 2011.

Grrrr!!!

UPDATE:

I left a post on AC Moore's Facebook page. They asked me to e-mail them; and they promptly called the store and gave me the OK. I called the store back, and they do have the cartridge which they are holding for me! Woo hoo! Just in time for a Mother's Day card!

Michael's, on the other hand, left me on hold for 1/2 hour and wasn't the least bit apologetic. Don't think I'll be shopping at Michael's anytime soon (unless they have another $9.99 cartridge sale).

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this currently... I too will not pay full price for carts...

We don't have AC Moore around here so I didn't get an email..but I know there are several girls on the boards that get them and hopefully they will chime in soon...

Vent away!!! We are always good listeners!!! (of course sometimes we don't mind thinking up ways to get even too!)

hmmm I haven't checked out carts in a long time - is there any worth it??
I post Toy Story cuts a month before they said that cart was coming out - I'm not into having swirly in my cuts so the last carts I looked at - I just passed on
I keep thinking the Critter cart would be nice

Glad they contacted you to contact them and then the store had your cart on hold!!!

you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE elegant edges. I used it on a Disney layout and LOVE how it turned out. If I knew how to post a picture here I would.

I had a terrible experience with M's a few weeks ago also. Jo's had carts for 19.99 and I tried to get M's to match it. They told me that they could not because the Jo's price was a clearance price on older carts...bull! Some of the carts were only a year old! Not to mention, nowhere in the ad did it say clearance. I told the lady that and she said, "I know, but that is still a clearance price." Are you kidding me?! She was huffy and very rude. I basically told her to keep her carts. M's is getting so greedy with PC products!

As I told the AC Moore staff last night, the difference between them and Michael's was like night and day. The cashier told me that alot of customers have had problems with Michael's. Maybe it's the particular Michael's in my neighborhood, but I will give my business to AC Moore in the future.

BTW, AC Moore held the cartridge as promised and it's home! FWIW, they told me that the Elegant Edges is very popular and that they did sell a few yesterday. I think the sale is nationwide -- $39.99 for all cart, so check your store. I also bought a Cricut Jukebox for $49.99, but I'm not sure if I'm keeping it.
