Okay so I got brave and pulled the bug out of it's box last night........ I've had it since 12/24 and been a member of the poultry family ever since:laughing:  So after much trial and error I managed to get two titles printed. Now came the bigger issue how in the world do you all glue those down...............?
I've been cleaning and re arranging the craft corner of the office for the last few days. Now I can finally get down to scrapin these pictures.

Congrats on ceasing to be a member of the poultry family! :lmao: I use a Xyron for my Cricut cuts. I have the small 'X' one and then the 510.

Welcome to the world of cricut addicts. Once you start you cant stop!!!!
I love you use a zig-glue pen for my letters. its neat, easy and you can control how much glue goes on. Also I have used a glue stick when desprate but that makes a bit of a mess.
let me know if you have any questions
Jennifer

I also like the zig glue pens, and I place my letters on the page with tweezers...that works much better than trying to do it with just my fingers, which always seem to get in the way.

I use the zig glue pen for the smaller ones and my hermafix glue dots for the larger ones.

Okay so it sounds like another machine in my future! can one or all of you explain the xyron? and what is a zig pen and where do I find one. I've got J's and walmart both of which are VERY limited, but my mom's on the road they've parked in FL for the next 15 days so I can have her hunt it up too.
While I love living in the sticks getting supplies can be a pain.
So any other helpful hints I'm still new to this. any quote/saying websites that are good or do I need to kick my creative mind into gear?

You can find zig pens in the adhesives section of the scrapbook area in most craft stores. I've found them at my Walmart in the somewhat limited scrapping area for about $1 less than I pay at AC Moore.

I have the Xyron 510, which will work on pieces up to 5" across. You feed your cutout into one side and use a handcrank to push it through. Depending on what kind of roll you have in the machine(adhesive, laminating, or magnets) your piece will come out with an even layer of adhesive all over one side of it, laminated, or as a magnet. Then you peel it off and you're all set. I like to use the adhesive on pieces that I want to glitter....it applies that even coat of adhesive and then you can sprinkle glitter all over it:).

so here's the stupid ? of the day...........

When you feed it through and there is that even layer do you then cut off the extra so that it doesn't stick to the page protector?

I will check my walmart in the am as i think i have enough to learn with the cricut. I'm not even thinking about layering yet I'm sticking with plain letters!!!

I live out in the sticks too- I use scrapbookpal.com for things like glues. I live on the East Coast and they are in the midwest so when I ordered last Wednesday the package came on Friday in the priority mail. They sell zig pens and glue dots for a little less than I can get them locally. The shipping is free if you spend $25.00.

I use the CM adhesive pen, the regular and/or mini tape runner.:thumbsup2

The sticky stuff will only be on the back of your letters. The rest of the sticky stuff stays on the plastic sheet that rolls back up into the cartridge. BTW, make sure you put your letters in right side up!

A little tip I picked up from the boards - trace outside of each layer with either a pencil or something of that nature (I use a tool from CM) so that none of the adhesive stays to the edges of the letters. No goop left over.

I have an 850 and a 150 - both of which I have trouble finding refills for. The 850 is not sold anymore and the 150's are always sold out. I found some online at stickermaker.com that was really reasonable and shipping was $5. I got the 250 for Christmas from my MIL with refills.
