I've only had my Cricut less than a year. I use it alot and would love more cartridges, but I'm on a tight budget. Anyone buy cartridges on ebay? How's your luck? There is one I REALLY want on there now, but I've never ordered anything from ebay.

My girlfriend bought me a cricut for my birthday last month and I have since ordered about 12 cartridges from eBay sellers. I have 19 total, but I bought some in the stores. JoAnns and Michaels both had them on sale for 40 bucks a few weeks ago! Anyway, I have had nothing but great experiences buying cartridges on ebay. Great deals, very fast shipping, and the cartridges are brand new, sealed and work perfectly.

I've been a buyer and seller on eBay for nearly ten years (oh my gosh, where did THAT time go!). I have had thousands of transactions and I can count the bad experiences on the fingers of one hand. I think it's a safe and inexpensive way to build your cricut cartridge collection.

I should add, the best way to be sure an eBay seller is reputable is to look at his or her feedback rating. I generally don't buy from people with less than 99%. If the rating is lower than that, I carefully read the comments left by buyers who left a negative. Sometimes I decide I can live with the faults people find in the seller. Other times I run the other way! Usually, if a seller cheats people, eBay kicks them off pretty quickly. So if a seller has several hundred feedbacks with few negatives, then you can be pretty sure you are safe.

Also, eBay/paypal has buyer protection. If you don't get your item, then you file a paypal claim and they will usually get you your money back. But these things are so very rare. As I said, it's only happened a few times in thousands of transactions. So far, the cricut dealers I've bought from are among the very best sellers on ebay....fast, free shipping on most, and good feedback.

You might want to dig in this forum for a thread about one ebay seller that pretty much sucks and not buy from them.

It is not ebay, but keep your eyes and ears open for Thanksgiving and the day after. Last year M's had carts on Thanksgiving Day for $29 each! I got 3 and did not even waste any of my precious shopping time because it was Thanksgiving Day, not the day after. :woohoo:

Usually I dread the end of summer, start of fall......but this year I am actually anxious for time to go buy. I can't wait for Black Friday. That is when I got my Cricut (from Michaels) last Black Friday. I'm hoping they have another great deal on carts.

:thumbsup2

Last Black Friday is when I got my Cricut, too! And three cartridges at $29 each.

I have not seen that great of a price since.....therefore, I have not bought any more cartridges since!

Hoping and wishing :wizard: for another great deal this year!!!

I took the plunge. I bid on the cartridge I wanted and won it for $26.00. I was hoping to get it for a bit less, but atleast it is still better than any retail sale price I have seen.

After hearing the positive reports, I bid on some cartridges, too! I am SO excited...these are WAY cheaper than the stores- even on sale- and I could not stand to wait til Black Friday!

But that brings up a question.....how do these ebay sellers get them at such a great price? A few live near Provo, so maybe they work there and get really good discounts or something?

I had asked a lady that runs my local scrapbook store about her prices and she says they cost her $40 or $50 from ProvoCraft. So there must not be much discount for retailers (except Michael's).

Anyway, I was just curious.....!
