Hi. I just bought my cricut a couple of weeks ago, I am still testing it out.
What would yous say is the best Cricut Cartridges to get for making cards? I also found that making 1" letters are too big for cards, then reading the instructions, it mentioned about sizing button on or off. Does that make a diference?

I think you can use most any for cards, just depends on what you are using them for. The only disney one I have is "dreams come true" and I think I am going to sell or return it. I only make cards w/ mine and don't have any princesses in my life to use it for.
These are the ones I have: Streatch your imagination has built in cards that is nice and there is a new one called Wild card coming out and it's only card. I really want that one! Celebrations cover birthdays well, I got papaer pups b/c it's cute (does have other holidays on it),doodle charm is just cute. Walk in my Garden is good for non-birthday type cards b/c it's flowers and such. I used it for Thanks before. Joy of the season (christmas only but some of the pictures can be used for other things, the ballet dancer, drummer). Zoobaloo is cute for the letters or kids name signs/cards.., Fabulous Finds, I haven't put that one to use yet. Still trying to decide about that one. Opposites attract is nice b/c it gives some different letter options. I want another just letter cart also.
Hope that's not too much info.

1" should definalty not be too big for letters. Check to see if the "real dial" button is on. that might make a difference.

I hope this makes sense to you ... to make smaller letters you can use one of the function keys on the cartridge your using where the letter is printed inside a shape (like on Mickey Font ... you can print letters or numbers inside a Mickey head shape). This way the Mickey head will be 1 inch and the letter inside smaller. The only thing to be careful about in this case is that you save all the small pieces that are cut out of the center of letters (such as the center of an "O") to make the letters look right.
As far as Cartridges, I'd suggest looking around on the Cricut website to see what each cartridge has ... they even have a Cricut Cards section on their message board where you could see what some people have made ... this may give you some ideas as to what carts you want. I love the Disney carts!
