Does anyone have any experience with the cribs available at the Boardwalk Villas? We are going in June...DD will be 10 months old. She doesn't really sleep in a pack and play so unless we want her sleeping in bed with us all week a good crib is important. I plan to call DVC Member Services to ask them, but from what I have read in many of these posts, calling the resort doesn't necessarily get you the correct answer. I will rent something if I really need to, but hate to spend the extra $$ if what they have there is OK. Thanks for any input you might have!

We are BWV owners. For the past two years I've called down to housekeeping and they have sent up a metal crib. It's not full size, but it's bigger than a pack and play. The sides however, do not go down (that i could figure out) My dd would never sleep in the pack and plays either. On our last trip she was 2yrs and 3 months and still slept fine in it.

They are limited but I've been able to get one every time :). Good luck!

eta: there is a pack and play in every villa, in the closet.

Thanks for the info. Last time we stayed at BWV I remember the pack and play in the closet...that was almost 2 years ago and before we ever thought we would need it!:rotfl:

I'm thinking of making the request and if it's not what we need maybe we can call and rent something once we are there. Thanks for the info!

We are very familiar with the crib situation at BWV. We have a similar situation with DS who will not sleep in a PNP. Our first stay about 14 mos ago we got a beautiful full sized metal crib. It couldn't have been better. Our next stay (last Nov) we also got a metal crib, but not as large as the first time. BWV in our experience has the best crib availabilty (nothing scientific about the statement, just our experience). Make sure you request a METAL crib and they will know you mean a real crib and not a PNP. Just make sure you get a thick mattress too. We stayed at BCV once and got a mattress about 1 1/2 inches thick...that was a bad night. We got a new crib and real mattress the next night. All you can do is call and request one, but then make sure you ask for it again at check-in, then call housekeeping when you get to your room. When you call, they will tell you there are no guarantees.

We rented a full size cribs from A baby's best friend.(www.abbf.com)
Our first trip to Disney we had 2 1/2 year old triplets and sleep was
very important to them and us! It was so worth the extra $. They were
easy to put together and they brought it to our room and returned them
for us. The metal cribs just didn't do it!
