My niece will be using our points to stay in a 2 BR at the BWV next month. It will be my niece, her husband, two daughters, 4 & 2 tomorrow, and her mom and dad, (my brother). She just e-mailed me saying she called the hotel about getting a crib. Of course they told her that I would have to call since it's my points, which is no problem, however I don't recall anyone ever mentioning a crib, only the pack-n-play. My question is do they even give cribs to people staying on points? She said they told her it was first come, first served. I'm going to call in a couple of minutes, but I thought someone here would be able to give me a heads up. Would I call the hotel or MS?

They will. It IS first come/first serve, and I'm not sure how many actual cribs they have. Call MS, have them note your ressie, and likely your niece will need to remind the front desk upon check in.

Just a word of warning, the "cribs" I've seen are those metal, institutional style, raised cribs that a) look really uncomfortable and b) make lots of squeaking noise. So just keep that in mind. If the little one just WON'T sleep in a pak and play, and it's the only option, they work in a pinch.

In case you don't want to chance not getting one and the pack and play won't work.....

We rented one for the week from abbf.com. It was as easy as they say to put togther. I think it was like $75 for the week and they deliver it to the resort and pick it up upon your departure. The only thing I would consider a slight negative to it was that the mattress was soft. It wasn't a huge issue as our daughter slept well for being away from home for the first time.

I would and will use them again in December.

Thanks pilferk & Monte Cristo, I'll pass your info on to her. I did call MS and they said they would note it on her reservation. They also said it is a request, not a guarantee. When I called the hotel, I was told that all the deluxes have pack-n-plays. It didn't sound like they even had cribs, so thanks for clearing that up. I'm sure everything will work out fine. There's only six of them in a 2BR so I imagine there will be lots of options.

Just let her know to be clear she wants an actual crib, not a pak and play. They have them...just not many of them.

The confusion comes from the fact people ASK for a "roll away crib" but they really MEAN (or are content with) a pak and play. And that's what they have most of.

From lots of experience, I have been told to request a "metal crib". This will distinguish your request from a pnp. Also, we have been told in late spring that Disney is phasing cribs (meaning metal, not pnp's) out, so there are fewer to have. I have found BWV was the most abundent as far as cribs go, so you may have better luck there. Yes, they are metal cribs, but they are a God-send for those DC who won't sleep in pnp's, plus, the ones we have had have a nice full, thick mattresses. Good luck!
