What exactly is Crest O the Wave at the Boardwalk?

Is it just signage?

It's just signage.

It's just part of the decor meant to make the buildings resemble an old-time boardwalk.

Thank you both. After my google search turned up nothing, I thought I'd come here to confirm my suspicions.

It does look cool though....

Those rooms are the farthest from the elevator. It looks like a separate section but the hallway is continuous.

We did stay in that section. The views are great esp.
seeing the Epcot fireworks. It is far from the elevators, but
we often used the stairwell ( to go down ) at the far end - it was faster.
