Does anyone have any info or ideas about Creekside Meadow group camping area? We are thinking of going with my sons Cub Scout pack soon. I know it costs $20 per person per night. But I wonder if they offer any discounts to scout groups or larger groups. We would probably have 50 people at least. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

My first tent camping trip to the Fort was when my oldest DD was about 5 years old. We camped at Creekside Meadows with the Indian Princesses. I looked into this for subsequent trips- and it didn't make sense price-wise. You can get a tent site with water and electric for less than what it would cost for three folks to stay at Creekside Meadows. For a really large group, it probably is the way to go, but for a smaller group, I would recommend trying to book several campsites on a tent loop. The nice thing about Creekside Meadows is that they do have big fire pits, and you can have a real camp fire there. The area itself is nice, and it has its own comfort station.

Yep, especially for Cubs when you have to do family camping and they are younger, I would recommend having your group book several sites in Loop 2000. If you are booking more than 10 sites, you can go through group reservations and get a really good rate. When I arrived at the Fort last October, there was a Cub Pack that was setting up the same time I was. They had 20 - 30 sites out of the loop. They had the "kitchen" set up on one or two sites and then had 2 -3 tents on all the other sites.
