If you are planning to finance, they will do a check of the score. But, they don't require proof of income etc...at least initially. They have a 3 tiers and the better your credit rating, the lower your financing.
They do what is called a "soft" credit check. The better the score, the better the rate. I think the best rate now is 10.75. They do not report the note to credit reporting agencies. They don't have to. They can just repossess your points! And then sell them again.
