Credit Score Question...

DH and I just got our combined credit reports. Our scores from the 3 reporting agencies averaged around 700 (685-716). Is this "good?" What type of scores equal "good credit?"

I think upper 600 and better is considered good, but am sure that there is someone on the DIS that will know for sure

How did you get your report from 3 different agencies? I saw an add for that, but was hesitant about doing it but I for sure want to check my credit!

DH got them, and I believe he did it online. It cost us about $40 but it gives a full report from all 3 agencies.

You can get a one time free credit score at www.eloan.com. Well, I think that is it. I did it and was glad.

When I was applying for a loan not too long ago, I was talking to the woman, and she said that in order to be considered in decent standing on your credit report, you need at least a 682. Anything lower and they will automatically reject you. They like to see around 715 - 730, apparently, to be ideal.

Another good place to get your FICO score is www.myfico.com. They charge $12.95 for a very extensive report and give you the score the creditors use to judge your credit.
