Credit Line @ Front Desk?

I'll be arriving at VWL in June for our first stay as "members" and wonder if you can "pay forward" with cash at the front desk, so when you charge to your room (to avoid carrying around lots of cash), it doesn't have to go onto your credit card account all? I always hate to look at those charges after I get home!!!

HMMM. Not sure about this, because we usually put everything on the room key. I think you can go in the night before check out and pay off the total if you want to do it that way. The other option is to go back to the old carry cash or traveler checks routine.

Yes, you can do this. I've done it to avoid having alot of cash or traveler's checks to worry about all week. I then checked the night before we left and put the remaining balance on my cc (I always spend more than I think I will!). One caution - the clerk had some trouble figuring this all out and at one point during the process, he had charged my cc twice. Look carefully at what's happening so you're sure its done correctly!!

I have never supplied a credit card number. There is no requirement for one.

Unless you meant that to have room key charging, you must supply a credit card even if you do put cash on the room.

If you want charging privileges on your room ID, you will have to leave a CC# or cash on account with the front desk. If you give them $500 in cash on your account- you will have a $500 limit on your charging privileges.

If you provide a CC#, you always have the option to pay the balance with a different credit card or cash prior to check-out. They are happy to handle it however you'd like.'

I think I'll go with the CC, and every day or so go by the desk and "pay" cash toward the charges! It's a mental thing--don't want to deal with that one LARGE lump sum at the end!!

We're crazy for frequent flyer miles..........and put EVERYTHING possible on our CC. I love those big balances

What I have done in the past was put a cc# on file and payed by check as needed. I was at the All Stars so not a large amount was allowed to charge with out charging your card. Just my 2 cents.

I've always put a credit card down and charged back to the room. I've run into hotels outside of Orlando (Atlantic City, Las Vegas) where they will not allow outside calls from your room phone unless you have a credit card or cash deposit on file. Does Disney do that? I guess it's to prevent people from walking out without paying the phone bill.
