Credit confusion

With the changes this past summer to how one can use the Dining Plan credits, I keep reading that it's possible to exchange one Quick Serve credit for three snacks. Is that true of the Table Serve credits as well?

Or, if you are on the Deluxe plan and your credits aren't really defined as QS or TS, can you breakdown your Deluxe credits into snacks?

Also, does that breakdown have to be in a food court; that is, must it be 1 QS credit for three snack items within the food court, or can I be in the resort's gift shop and break down 1 QS credit (or 1 undefined Deluxe credit?) for, say, a box of Minnie cookies, a lollipop, and a bag of Goofy peanuts?

I believe the conversion is possible with TS and Deluxe meal credits, the only issue being that this is an absolutely awful use in terms of value.

I exchanged a QS credit for 3 snack items at Karamell-Kuche and Gaston's Tavern in addition to our resort food court. According to reports, most (if not all) QS locations and resort gift shops seem to have the ability so long as the CM knows how to enter it into the system.

A terrible use of a table service and/or deluxe credit, yes. But better than not using them at all, in a pinch. On our previous trip everyone became ill and we missed our reservations at Ohana and Tusker House. We were too close to the end of the trip to reschedule or add in any new reservations, and we ended up with 6 unused meal credits. It wouldn't have been ideal, but it would have been nice to have cashed them in for snack-y souvenirs for the flight home

We've done it before at the food court with our deluxe credits for snacks to bring back home. We did this in the food court and gift shops of ASMo and POR, before any dining plan changes.
