Credit check when buying direct?

We bought direct Saturday and had to finance a small amount (will be paid off by the end of the year) and our guide said it was a hard pull, however, nothing hit any of my credit reports. I had everything locked, unlocked, then locked again after they got their info and approved us.
Typically when I apply for a credit card I get emails galore to let me know someone ran my credit.
Is Disney only doing a soft pull? We ended up getting the lowest rate possible which I was sure we would. FICO is over 800.
I even asked again about the hard pull and the guide said it was indeed a hard pull.

Does anyone know if my guide was mistaken?

It’s a soft pull. We financed a small amount last year and paid it off quickly and neither the loan or the credit check hit my credit score at all. Now…if you’re buying a 2nd contract less than a year from your 1st one it will be a hard pull. I called my rep last week about adding on and he said it would be better to wait until
I’ve owned for a year so it doesn’t hit my credit if I finance again.

Weird. As soon as they pulled for my RVA purchase it hit all of the credit reports in a way that seemed like a hard pull to me. But perhaps I need to look some more...... So far didn't seem to hurt my credit score.

We put down about 85% of the total so I'm wondering if that had something to do with it.

If it's showing up on your credit reports, it's a hard pull. A soft pull doesn't leave any trace and you will have no idea it even happened. No notices, even on paid credit monitoring services.

Sounds about right. We were buying a fairly large size contract and putting about 50% down. Plan to pay it off in 1 to 3 years but still not a non-material amount. Must be a soft pull under a certain $$$ threshold.

Just thought I'd share my experience so others would not think there is no credit pull :)

I went back and looked. I had a hard pull from DVC a year or so ago, on a large direct purchase. "Disney Vacation Development" on Experian.
