Do the counter service places accept credit cards (VISA or Discover)?? This would make figuring out $$ so much easier.

Yep, anywhere there is a cash register they accept credit cards.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can also charge to your room at any permanent counter service location. Only carts and temporary stands may require cash.

Actually, there were several permanent stands at MGM that did not take credit cards. I was under the assumption that any place with a cash register would take the cards and found out to my dismay that this was not true. MGM was the only place that we ran into trouble and it was our last day and I didn't want to bring much cash.

Do you remember which places these were? (if they are places i want to stopm at I want to make sure I have cash!!)

These are the random type carts that sell soda, ice cream, popcorn. We also try to card everything to keep things simple but we also carry a little cash with us for little things like I noted.

This post made it sound like it was more than ice cream/soda/popcorn carts. I know about those. But what places with cash registers dont take CC?

Thanks, this helps a lot. I didn't want to have to bring $2000 for food. Now I will just use my Discover Card and pay it when I get home. Of course I will bring some $$ for popcorn and snack carts.

There are a handful of places that look permanent but still don't take cards, but it's by no means the majority. I know that the beaver tail cart at Epcot only takes cash. Also, I've heard that the food stand inside Fantasmic doesn't take cards. But you won't have to carry much cash at all.

Thanks for clearing that up!! I'll make sure when I got to Fantasmic to take cash!!

One place I remember specifically is at MGM near the stroller rental. It is not just a cart, but a permanent stand. We were buying sweet rolls, coffee, juice, etc. to eat for a quick breakfast snack and I was surprised that they didn't accept credit cards (or room key for that matter). There were a couple of other places, but this is the one I specifically remember. I just tried to look up my receipts that I save from year to year and I couldn't find the name of this stand.

I just didn't want you to be under the impression that all places with cash registers take credit and debit cards.
