Credit card with the best benefits/rewards

There's a current offer out there for the Amex premier gold card with 50k point bonus, no annual fee the first year AND a $100 airline fee credit. 50k MR points can be used for $400-500 in gift cards or transfer 50k mikes or points to some airline/hotel programs. To get the bonus you have to spend $1k in the first 3 months. Pay a few utility and cell phone bills and your done. You can use the $100 credit for baggage fees, seat upgrade fees and some airline gift cards. The card pays 2x points at restaurants, gas and groceries, 3x for airfare.

Thank you all for your suggestions so far. We are not going CRAZY expensive on the wedding, but its going to cost enough to not have it payed for in a year or 18 months. I was just trying to figure out a way to maybe get some benifits since I was spending a decent amount of money, and I do get now how if you can't pay it off right away, the rewards might not worth it. I did think of multiple cards......like southwest being one then I could get them tickets for their honeymoon.

That's why I love your suggestions. Like I said....I really didn't know how rewards worked...so I love all the help.

I love my SWA visa but make sure their honeymoon plans are set and it's a destination that SWA offers service. They just started flying internationally since they took over Air Tran but still it's mostly a few Caribbean cities. If the honeymooners want to fly to Europe SW points are worthless.

We got our Barclaycard last year when we got a new roof. There was an initial bonus for spending, then 0% on purchases for 12 or maybe 15 months and 2% rewards with a 20% bonus if they are used for travel. We paid the roof of over about 9 months and then it became our primary credit card.

I like reward programs with transfer partners. Amex Everyday is part of their membership rewards program. Mine came with a decent bonus (for a no annual fee card) and I think there was a 0% introductory rate for the first 12 months.
I recently got a Chase Sapphire Preferred and I really love it. Chase's Ultimate Rewards is a good program. I think others have mentioned it as well. Look into it. It's quite versatile in the way you can use points.
It's a nice looking card too, metal.

I like my Fidelity Amex. It has no annual fee and I get 2% cash back on all purchases, with no spending or time limits.
