Credit Card with Best Rewards Program

It can be used for all of the lines that are owned by Carnival, I don't know all of them but I know Holland America is one because after we came back from a HA cruise our CC gave it as an option to be paid with SeaMiles.

Bummer. We go with RCCI (including Celebrity). But thanks :goodvibes

jms920, sounds like you have a great plan!

I am pretty sure I will be going AmEx with Costco. My Citibank just let me know that there is no more 2% for gas a groceries :sad2:

Airfare for the Citibank Driver's Edge is the same as a regular reward -- 1% of your purchase. If you need $400 for an airline ticket, you convert $400 reward dollars to points ($400 equals 40,000 points), ie, each $1 of rewards gives you 100 points if you want to use for airfare. Another option is to keep it as $$$ and request a check for the $$ amount.

Is this a new feature? I have had the Citibank Driver's Edge for 4 years and I thought you could only redeem for car repairs or the purchase of a car? Is there a website where you redeem? Thanks.

We have a Southwest Visa Card. Every 8 total round trips my husband takes (using any card, but we always use the Southwest Card to buy his flights) he gets a free flight. So a round trip gets 2 credits. ALSO, you get 1 flight credit for every 1200 dollars you spend. So, when you buy the flights and take them, you reach the 16 credit requirement to get the free flight even faster.

I love Southwest because the rewards are transferable. We are using one to send our son to "Camp Mimi Granddaddy.":rotfl:

I guess that they are looking for people with good credit, too. Today we got four referral cards in the mail. When we refer someone and they get a card and make a purchase, they get 16 credits automatically, enough for a free flight!

Today's news said that a credit card company had just raised their credit card interest by 2 % across the board. These are some crazy times...

[Example: my Discover card gives me 1% back So $10 for every $1000. I spend/QUOTE]

I love Discover's service, but the less than 1% back till you spend $3000 makes me furious. Is there any credit card that gives you 1% cash on EVERY dollar you spend?

Yup, our Citibank Mastercard and the Disney Visa.

Disney Visa only gives you a reward card and we only go to Disney every few years so I'd rather have hard, cold cash! I'll check out the Citibank Mastercard, thanks!

Check the fine print on your Discover card.
Thanks for this... I never realized!

Right now I have Discover and Amazon Visa. I'm figuring, based on what you've pointed out, that we should continue using our Discover, whenever we can (to assure we get over that $3000 threshold), except: Amazon.com purchases (obviously), Gas Stations and Restaurants and Drug Stores (2 points on Amazon). However, we should use the Discover for Gas Stations or Restaurants or Drug Stores whenever they happen to be the 5% cashback bonus that month.

Right?

Related question: Does anyone know how Amazon determines what is a Gas Station or Restaurant or Drug Store? Is there a place we can clearly see how they're calculating our points? I haven't found one.

I'm especially concerned about Drugstore.com... it shows up on the statement as "(Other)"... I don't see anything showing up as "Drug Store".
